I do not know where you located the facts about premature Dry Rot on Michelin LTX the tires. I previously lived in the hot Sacramento Valley, in CA. I ran the Michelin tires there for numerous years and they held up fine. I have had them on previous Toyota vehicles and have had the Michelin tires of different styles on Three Lexus vehicles, 2 LS 460's and 1 SC 400. I would not own any tire but them. Been using them for over 35 years and never one problem and they get tremendous mileage.

Barry if you have been driving for 35 years and you don't have your head in the sand you should have heard about various Michelin tires prematurely "dry checking" meaning developing small cracks in both the sidewall and tread. This happened several years ago and I even had a set replaced by Michelin on my Honda. I too have had several sets of the LTX and they are a great tire. Michelin screwed up and for a time would replace them. I think that was about 5-8 years ago. If you google it there are hundreds of matches like this 178 Complaints and Reviews about Michelin Tires | Page 2 for example.

OP, there is no perfect tire. All tires are compromises in one area or another like cost, wear, poor traction in one area and good traction in others. Find something you think will work for YOUR conditions and buy it!

Cooper AT/3, load rating C. Got the 275s, had a minor hit to MPG (about 0.75-1.0, depending on what music is playing:driving. Had just a bit of trouble balancing them, but in all other respects they have worked out perfect for what I do. I'd suggest checking them out. The Discount Tire version (ATP) is virtually the same tire. Nice price on 'em too. And a 55K warranty. That's not a bad combo. I had no difficulty deciding on LT vs P, I went LT just because I tow the camper a lot.

I liked them very much. I traded for the TE though and the tires went with the SR5. I liked them so much that I will replace the OEM tires with the AT3's again this fall. They are a good all around tire for my application.

X2 for me.. I have enjoyed them quite a bit.. The road noise has increased by about 5% i would say over a year.. The wear has been excellent, rotate them every 5k miles.. They have performed descent in moderate off road conditions and fairly well when it rains. Not much snow driving for me, so not sure how good they are in snow season.

Very happy with the Discoverer ATP LT265/70R17.

They have done well both on- and off-road and do not seem to add road noise beyond what the OEM tires did.

Slightly more aggressive looking compared to the AT3's. They have been great in rain and snow here in Indiana.

When you get around to that point, make sure to check that they are still being manufactured here in the US and/or that the reviews still reflect quality. I recently read that Cooper is being bought by a tire company in India.

If some of you can help me out, it'd be great.

Basically I'm looking for a tire with aggressive looks, quiet on road, good Cornering abilities, good traction wet & dry, good- hopefully above average wear, and decent price. I would prefer white lettering, but it isn't a deal breaker.

Please help!!! I'm tired of the tires I have and they're getting to the point they're becoming dangerous, so I need to find something that fits the above for me ASAP!

BTW, what are the differences of the load ratings? I've never really payed attention to that, and now it has me wondering.

Many of the attributes you mentioned conflict with each other, which is why there's no such thing as best all around tire.

If the tires you have are truly dangerous then it's not really funny that you're making it this hard. Just go shopping and get something you like the look of with a name you recognize. Forget load ratings. Get P265/70/17.

If the above is not sufficient to pull the trigger, you'll have to prioritize your list to get any real help.

LTX 2 lasted 105000 on Ridgeline, that`s right 105000. will be my next after soft as soap terra grapplers done. I`d estimate 25 to 30000 miles.
after 11000 looks like 1/3 is gone, ltxs were looking new at that mileage.

Looks like Discount Tire no longer has the AT3 on the website, at least in my area. The ATP certainly is not the same tire.
I think I'm now leaning towards Revos at Costco.
Buying at Costco gives me a little more confidence and tire rotations will hopefully be while I shop.
