an 85 runner originally has a solid rotor, very thin and shitty.

I think I would upgrade to a larger master cylinder before I put on SS brake lines. I love my 231mm Tundra brakes, but how far the gas pedal goes down before I start getting brakes is a little weird.

I figure ill do extended brake lines now So I wont have to bleed again later as i would like to do a 2-2.5" lift in the future. Anyone have a good recommendation should I go braided? Or what other options do I have? Thanks!

IMO...Your truck is a 2000, so the OE rubber lines are probably starting to crack a bit. If your already spending the $ to upgrade, new braided lines are only ~$75. You'll already have the callipers off, so you're one nut away from changing them anyways. I got these ones..Performance Front Brake Line Set

Were they a direct fit? When I worked for Lexus a customer had us do some work on his IS300 including stainless brake lines and they had no way of fastening them to the OEM brackets.

Yes, they are a direct fit. The retaining clip locks them in.

Should be the same for '01. You dont need them either. Your OE steel lines will connect directly to the callipers.
