Evening was quite cold and made me rethink the sleeping platform after retreating to the 4runner. Night brought snow, and we left at 1st light.

I noticed that I was much colder while sleeping in the back of the 4Runner when compared to a tent, especially the roof top tent. I think that the guys who make the back into a bed have the right idea, but kinda a pain to pack all the big blankets and stuff.

I cannot believe there was snow up on Gallagher... That's wild. Jealous that you got to see what I imagine was the first snow of the season up there.

We use our 20* backpacking bags. Stay plenty warm, and if it's around 0* we'll use an extra down blanket. All of this packs into a small backpack.

The issue we were thinking of was headroom. We sat in the back before going to sleep to escape the cold and wind. if we had a platform we wouldnt be able to sit up.

The snow was pretty sweat. It made me nervous waking up, and thinking about getting down and being the only ones up there. It turned out to be only a few inches and was no big deal.

Same here, but wool blankets for extra warmth. Stay plenty warm with the blankets on cold nights and doubles to keep your backside warm around fire.

Yes and yes. I run these on mine and they're great. Much nicer pattern than the old clogged single stream factory ones.

The nozzles are from a 2001 rav4 , heated version. They were like 12/ea IIRC.

Great mod. Think I'll try to sneak it in before the winter drives too.

Kinda makes me wonder about a de-icing solution too. Had the nozzles freeze up on more than one occasion.

Surf Hatch

Purpose: Install Surf hatch to move the tire to the rear

Process:

• Weld up large spoiler mounting holes and harness openings
• Body filler till smooth
• Swap internals old to new hatch
• Find small spoiler in japan
• Paint, install
