Going with a FX-R kit I got off of SCrunner12. Just got my bench power supply the other day, so about ready to start it. Dirty Sanchez meaning not low key or necessarily classy lol.
The FXR are an awesome kit, but I didn't have the balls to fab everything up myself. So what is your definition of being low-key or classy, lol?. Are you painting them red or something? I still think it's funny that you said my rig looks like a classy broad, lol.
Regarding the right light flickering, I had the same problem. It was pretty annoying, but I ended up scraping some of the paint off my ground point on that side and it went away. You may want to do that if you grounded it to the fender.
I hope it isn't a bad negative ground! I Sanded through the paint and should have adequate grounding. Will take another look tonight... I may take everything apart again and hit my negative ground with a wire brush to make it super shiny metal.
The color of the bulbs will change over time and as they break in. Mine were bluish, but have since settled on a pure white. I have 5000k, but yours will change to the off-white color of 4300k bulbs in time.
I think I remember you saying that before that they would change color overtime, But it just struck me as being weird that they both were different colors. Right now that is the least of my worries though... But I am glad that I anned up for the more expensive Phillips bulbs. Thanks!
That sucks about the shield sticking. Might need to be worked in or unfortunately reopened and adjusted. Hopefully it fixes itself and no glue got on it from the shroud install.
I sat on my driveway last night for 10 minutes activating my highbeams. My neighbors must think I'm nuts. But after all that the left side wasn't freeing up at all. Instead of glue, I used form in Place gasket that was black, So I should be able to see if any glue got anywhere... When I tore everything apart there was nothing anywhere that it shouldn't be. If it is anything possibly the wiring is hanging up the solenoid or Linkage. Are there any kind of warnings about interference caused by the high-voltage lines running to the lightbulb? I know it sounds nuts, But on that side the wiring is so compact that... who knows.
Thanks again for the assistance and info.
