City / Hwy

Yeah, but I wasn't driving it.
. You need to physically calculate it. Top it up. Reset the odometer. Drive it till you want to fill up. Fill it up. Write down the number of miles driven over the gallons added to top it up. Divide it and you get mpg. I bet you don't get over 14 or 15. That's reality. Now reset the odometer and do it again. Do this over a couple months to get an average.

Your 5th generations need to work harder to carry around the weight, and thus use more gas. You'll see.

I have hand calculated every tank for last 6K miles. I get 19 something every time with a combo of city and highway driving. I will say I am pretty easy on the throttle as opposed to my car.

That's great. So far the most I can get in my 2003 v8 is about 16 when I drive very conservatively. I am going to try to drive even smoother and see if I can get to 17. That would be cool.

Carl G: another thing to note is that whereas the 4th gen's mpg readout was notoriously, um, "over-optimistic" let's say, the 5G's mpg computer seems much more accurate.
