Trim paint does look good, I need to do that same with my trim pieces.

That trim paint makes a big difference. I'm thinking I'll use that on my flares and valence of the front bumper. When you did the window trim did you just mask it all off? or remove it somehow?

I removed them all and painted them over a sheet of cardboard. They're a pain in the ass to take off, especially the back one.

i have been wanting to paint my trim pieces soo bad and im glad you found the right paint! Dou think that stuff would work on my stock roof rack? would i have to sand it down and prime it? I dont know much about painting parts.

I would use it on my rack if I had enough, but I wouldn't expect it to hold up against anything crazy. You can sand and prime if you desire.

I'd change up your maglite location -that'll destroy your knee in any significant impact...

My Tundra comes with knee air bags if you can believe it.

Damn, this truck is pretty devoid of accessible mount spots...

Hey COB, are those Tundra rims lug centric like the 3rd gen six spoke rims? Im looking to replace mine soon as theyre just a balancing nightmare

They're hub centric, as our OEM wheels are.





Random update. I did this about a week ago.

My gas gauge died. 1999 and 2000 years have a TSB for bad fuel sender units and a revised motherboard for the back of the gauge cluster.

New sender:

Gauge Motherboard (special order from Toyota, $50 with 0 miles on the ODO or $130 for your mileage)

Old motherboard on back of cluster:

Instructions for reprogramming:

New mileage (I asked for 193,001)

Oh, I'll never tell...

The Magnaflow muffler rattling is getting to be a major nuisance. I'm also not interested in spending more money on installation. A cherry bomb glasspack and exhaust clamps will suffice until I can decide what exhaust I want to run. The exhaust is dumped right before the axle. It's loud, but sounds so damn awesome. I'm thinking of a TRD catback, but I'm curious how it would sound with a 3RZ. If I could capture the brand new cherry bomb sound in a much quieter package, that'd be the best sounding exhaust- bar none.

These few items are the next direction this truck is heading. Awfully silly to buy a clutch for an automatic 4Runner...

.... a bell housing....

...clutch fork...

and 3RZ 4WD M/T ECU....

... bolts for a flywheel...

... a front diff drop for a 2WD? What's next, a 4WD emblem?

... yes, of course.

nice job. I'd get rid of the rims if it was mines cause they are heavy and its holding it back. you'll have more fun with the super charger too but thats just me. :zoom:

The 4WD one was actually available from Toyota. There's still a couple left in their warehouse.

Can't wait! I'm stuck at work for the weekend so i won't be able to get anything done until Monday... even then, I still have to wait for my front diff to arrive.

I have a small to-do list of stuff to remove for my truck...

Tonight, I'll probably take out the horns and swap the seats. I wanna get a good look at the black carpet, it might be nice enough to swap into mine.

Definitely gonna swap the rear heat into my 4Runner.

The only fab required is a transmission mount. Gonna have to find someone to weld that.

The driveshafts will be correctly lengthened or shortened by a driveline place by my house.

Thanks dude, yeah, the vultures are good though, I need to cover costs. You'll be second in line. Please be aware that the front left bumper mounted piece is missing. The front left also has a little scuffing from whatever collision it was involved in.

I found out that the previous owner changed all of the green bulbs with white LEDs.
