Contrary to popular belief, my 4Runner has never been buffed other than after the paint was done. It's never even heard of wax.
I decided to finally treat it. We have all of the detailing tools at my dealership's body shop. It had some gnarly scratches all over the sides from branches, the hood has some scrapes, and the overall condition of the original paint was very sub-par. The pictures don't really show it, but it looked really bad up close. It was dirty from a little wheeling trip last Friday, so I washed it, clayed it, buffed it 3 times, and all of the scratches are gone. I am in love with the way this thing looks now.
I also took out all of the seats, then cleaned and shampooed every inch of the interior, even the seat belts (THEY ACTUALLY RETRACT NOW!).
On another note, my steering rack has gained too much play. The actual inner bushings have gone bad and it is now leaking a storm of ATF. I went to Ferman's Minitruck in Santa Ana and pulled a steering rack out of a wrecked IJM 99 3RZ 2WD (familiar... eh?) and I will swap that in once I get my new steering rack mount bushings from Wheelers Offroad. Alignment afterwards.
I also got a new set of bumper lenses for the signals from FoneRunner. One of mine cracked from a rock.
Next up is either a new LSPV or a manual proportioning valve, and then fixing my seat mount on the drivers side which has been broken for some time now.
