COB's 4Runner Timeline (Pic Heavy)

out of curiousity how bad would it have been to run the panhard unmounted?

your pan hard is what keeps your axle centered so with out it, it would shift left n right at hi speed lead to a crash, as for off road you will snap or bent all your links cuz there will be no centering when flexing

i see!
makes a lot of sense, i knew it would be a bad idea but just for self knowledge its always nice to learn things here and there that will become useful for later :)

Congratulations are installing the supercharger and being the first guy with a supercharged 3RZ on the forum.

Someday I hope I'll have the opportunity to post my supercharger install thread.

Hey, thanks T4R2014. It is a refreshing boost *knee slap*

Fast forward a month and a half: Still waiting for that right donor wreck. Patience...

After 12 years, the window trim was starting to get pretty sun faded. I took on a new product called SEM Trim Black. SEM makes bodyshop grade products. This particular product dries harder than normal spray paint, giving it much more durability. The finish is flat black and looks OEM. I didn't go far enough to fill in pits or anything, the color is enough.

Too late for photos of all the stuff at once, but I'll try to update soon.

Thanks. Flares will be coated with Trim black rather than pathetic plastidip. The clear is already showing fade. I'll do that when I feel like it.

The paint is looking good. I've used it before and it is good stuff. Let me know next time you go out for some off-road time.

Ohh and where did you get those plastic logos? Do they come with those wheels? I have similar centercaps but I just painted the indented part red, yours "pop out" which is a cool solution as well.

Thanks man, I can't wait to see how well it holds up, haven't heard anything but good. They've unfortunately closed our local off road space for some stupid reason, but I'll let you know next time I'm gonna go out. It's likely just some dumb temporary thing.

Those logos are part of the centercap on the Tundra/Sequoia 17" wheels, usually chrome. I just took them off.

Sorry, forgot my new 2 D cell LED maglite/mount. Also got a hitch ball, but I have yet to tow anything yet since I need a drop hitch. Oh well.

Where did you buy the SEM paint? I've get the same fading.

lookin god COB! Where did you find that Trim paint???

It's not typically available at auto parts stores, but if you go to any paint store that supplies body shops, you should be able to find it. I found mine at a store in Laguna Niguel simply called, "The Paint Store."

Or, you can check their website and find a local retailer, though the list isn't very thorough. They didn't show the place I bought my can from.

SEM Products - Where To Buy

Do your tires rub offroad?

Only the front when fully compressed and turning at the same time. I hammered in my pinch welds to fit my old BFG's prior to lift, too. It rubs a little on the top of the fender liner, once it rubbed the bottom edge of the flare. Nothing a 1" BL wouldn't fix I guess.

That trim paint makes a big difference. I'm thinking I'll use that on my flares and valence of the front bumper. When you did the window trim did you just mask it all off? or remove it somehow?

i have been wanting to paint my trim pieces soo bad and im glad you found the right paint! Dou think that stuff would work on my stock roof rack? would i have to sand it down and prime it? I dont know much about painting parts.

I'd change up your maglite location -that'll destroy your knee in any significant impact...

My Tundra comes with knee air bags if you can believe it.

Hey COB, are those Tundra rims lug centric like the 3rd gen six spoke rims? Im looking to replace mine soon as theyre just a balancing nightmare
