if you place a wood board on the bottom of the battery, you wont have to use a spacer on the top. this way people wont know
might crack the case tho, since the bottom is not that strong.

i didnt say take the little piece he has on top and place it at the bottom of the battery. cut out a new piece of wood the size of the bottom of the battery and done.

I'll try to get the exhaust made soon, but I just bought a clutch for my other car and things might move slowly.
I haven't gone through the steps of the swap yet, but from the looks of things, doesn't seem like there should be any difficulty, even with the auto ECU. I'll find out and let ya know someday.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Today marks the 1st year. I brought this truck home May 17, 2012.
The top is pretty bad. The fiberglass is pitted. Thought about sanding and filler primer and all that... but my goal is a soft top someday. Don't really care that much about the hardtop. Hell, I don't even like the ghetto tint on the side windows or the cracked up wiper motor cover. Taking it on and off sucks donkey balls.

After it dried, flipped it upside down and put it on a blanket to fix the headliner. Glued it back with some 3M trim adhesive.

Shit's heavy.
It looks a lot better than pink. It's a good look but it really needs more black to compliment the top. Gonna redo the bumper ends front and rear in the same black, as well as the mirrors and other plastics. The wipers also need to be sanded and painted, front and rear. The front also needs mudguards, and I want to redo the "4WD" logo in white on the rear flaps.
Also gotta finish and reinstall the side B-Pillar trim pieces with the turbo logos. The side decals will be replaced sooner or later with James Dean Creations reproductions. The tail light lenses will be replaced with the same style, but clear signal lens. I'd also like some JDM style front corner lenses, but might go clear with both those and the bumper signals.
Should also look a lot better with those tires Matt gave me. Before all of this happens though, I need a downpipe. The clutch for the Probe just took my mod budget for the month so that'll have to wait.
At least, in the meantime, I have time to install my monroe shocks and steering damper.

I think the top should've been black from the start!
The paint restoration is like the difference when I did mine (though mine is white). I want to do the same with my rims, but ill end up buying some sport rims for mine instead. Possibly SR5.
The red interior I kinda like..... But black would look soooo much better. But it'll get nice and toasty in there!

Hello I am a newbie and just found this awesome thread. I am the original owner of a 1987 4Runner DLX with 144k actual miles. I just had a complete rebuild of the original 22RE engine, new front axles, clutch, radiator, brakes, shocks, all fluids changed, carpet cleaned and new floor mats. As soon as I can recoupe from the drive train fixes am having the straight no rust body painted. The request is this: the rubber vents in the outer plastic B-Pillar assembly between the front doors and top have disintegrated and noticed the driver side of yours had been removed, please tell me how this assembly is removed from the pillar to gain access to the rubber seals. I am not sure if the complete assembly is offered any longer, or at least have not found it, but read another thread where a guy cut strips from an inner tube and glued them in place. While the assembly is out I also want to repaint or gold leaf the logo. I am really afraid to just start prying on the plastic and hoped you would share how to remove this assembly.
