Compiled: FJ Springs Lift Info for 4th gen

how is the ride compared to the XRES? mine dont have any leaks but they are getting old and I rub a little bit with my 1.25" wheel spacers so i am wanting to jack it up a little bit and dont want to mess with the 2.5? spacer lift i bought.

Wish I could tell you.. My Limited didn't come with XREAS...

But compared to stock, I will say it feels a lot more stable cornering even though the CoG is raised, and less "boaty" in the sense that the car doesn't sway and rock like a boat from a bump.

5100(.85)/fj 5160/fj

Like the title says. Just got the car back from the shop with 5100 (.85) on the front and 5160 in the rear with used fj coils all around(with 20kish miles)

I got the work done at Mikes Custom Toys in grants pass for 400 bucks. Mikes is loosely affiliated with wheelers.

I forgot to take measurements prior to the work but currently it's sitting at:

FL- 35 1/8th-2/8th
FR- 35 5/8

RR- 36 3/8th - 4/8th
LR- 36 3/8

First thing I noticed when looking under the car was how the covers on the rear shocks were all scrunched up....kinda funny but I assume it doesn't matter? Unless they pinch on something maybe?

Here's how it aligned....these numbers mean nothing to me but mike said it was all good.

I'm about to drive 500 miles down to Cali so that should get things nice and settled in...I'll measure again down there and give my thoughts on the ride.

That turned out very well...

Looks weird, like the dust boot is either torn in half or there are 2 boots on it.

Yeah, I'm super stoked on how it turned out! Looks and feels great...this is how it should have come off the lot. as far as the shock sleeve I think it just needs to be straightened out but I havnt messed with it yet.

Can anybody confirm that those alignment numbers are decent?

Trd wheels next..

I'm a little pleasantly surprised those FJ springs didn't bump the rear end higher, that being the case I think I've found the springs I need for my Runner...

Yeah they gave me a very mild lift. I think the t13 would be another aftermarket spring that would provide something similar or maybe a tiny (1/4 - 1/2") more.

i plan on doing FJ springs all the way around with the adjustable bilstein 5100 up front and 5100 regular out back. I also have 2.5/1.5 daystar spacers. Would i have any issues with a reserve rank. I really want to avoid that. I also have camburg UCAs going in with that setup.

and more maintenance would be replacing the front 2 bearing hubs, inner and outer tie rods with new LBJs.

anywas if someone has pix of the set up i have or similar please post up i want to see.

Here is the Moog FJC front coils on Rancho RS999760 struts.
Rear SAW and UHMW plastic 1/4" spacer in the rear...with airbags.

so retracting from what i was previously going to do is set my 5100s up to 2.5 up front and outback i was going add the 1.5 spacer, but from the looks of things it appears various others on this thread has experienced A slight reverse rake. And what i have been noticing is that people who set the 5100s to 1.75 and a 1.5 spaCer it would look perfect and level.

so that is an option. but what if i wanted to go 2.5 up front what size spacer would i go with outback to make it level. BTW i will also be running 5100s in the back with the fj spings all around and camburg UCA UP front

Finally finished up my suspension
06 v6 4wd
Moog FJ springs all around
Bilstein 5100s all around with the front set to 1.75''

I'm still undecided if I wanna add the rear daystar spacer. I'll see how it settles out after some miles.

so does anyone have fj springs all the way around with the bilstein shock 5100s all the way around. with the front set to 2.5 and a 1.5 daystar spacer in the rear?

thanks

Is 2.5 the top setting on the front? Then yes, I have had that exact setup (along with a 1" body lift) for about 60,000 miles now.
I'm looking to upgrade though. With the weight of all my skids, sleeping platform, fridge and gear, the back end is definitely sagging. I believe the front has come down a bit as well. I've actually had multiple people (mostly Jeepers) ask me if I was just running big tires on stock suspension.
I already have a pair of used Radflo 2" lift springs to go in the rear when I get a free weekend and I'm looking for cost-effective ways to upgrade the front eventually.

damn sounds like you running a mini Mobil command center lol. that is going to be my exact set up too. 2.5 on my 5100s with the 1.5 rear spacer and fj 4x4 springs all around. I wanted a pic for reference so i can see what im working with if there is anything reverse rake. I will be running stock rims and maybe a 265/70/17 tire thats all.

Im mainly concerned if there is a rake i would have to disassemble all that stuff again just to get rid of the rake which is what im trying to avoid.

thank you for your response!

There will still be some rake, but not as much as stock. I'd post a photo, but I have a body lift as well (and sagging) so it wouldn't give you an accurate representation.

Check out my thread here for a couple old photos. I think in the end I have 275/70's with no BL, at the time, as opposed to my 285's now: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/100615-jds-lift-2.html

I have a 2006 v8 2wd 4runner that I am adopting from my wife because I bought her a 2017 TRD ORP. I found a set of gently used (< 45k miles) OEM suspension from a 2010 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition. The package includes the upgraded TRD Pro Bilstein 4800 shocks & struts, off road springs, Upper Control Arms (UCA), Rear Lower Links and a Supreme Suspension 3" Lift / Level Kit. All the bushings are original and in good shape. The lift kit has only 5,000 miles on it. What parts do i need and what cant I use? worth $250? considering buying new coilovers for $900

Bilstein 5100 all the way around, shocks set at 2.5 in the front- $358 on eBay

2012 Fj cruiser shocks with around 10k miles on them all the way around-$100 found on Craigslist

Origionally had the XREAS suspension on my 03 4Runner and wanted to get a beefy look so I swapped them with 5100s and FJ shocks and love how it turned out. Gained 2.5 in the front and 2.0 in the rear. Right now there is 265/65/17 on it but plan on getting 275/70/17 bfg ko2 this week. I'm stoked. Ride is great. First time poster here but long time reader. Stay tuned for more
