I’m really excited after finally bringing home my new 4Runner. Having said that, I have grand (read: expensive) plans for the future to include rails, bumper(s), lift/suspension etc.

In the meantime, I was wondering what items or accessories you’ve added to your rig that aren’t necessarily performance based. Things such as center console tray and divider, glove box divider, dash cam, tint or things of that nature. Stuff that isn’t overly expensive but makes things convenient, comfortable or more organized.

Rear ladder to get to the roof rack.
Screen protector for infotainment unit.
Trailer brake controller.
Cup holder inserts.
Upgraded struts for rear hatch.
Recovery hook in rear tow receiver.
Tow straps, ratchet straps, bungee cords.
Cargo organizer.
Extra long USB cords front and back.
Bug deflector.
Cover for steering wheel emblem (prevents glare).
Windshield sun shade.

Trying to get mud flaps but I can’t find a @#$&* set that fits the Nightshade (anyone have any ideas, let me know).

Oh, and also bought a grille guard from Westin, only to find out it doesn’t fit Limited/Nightshade (still have that for sale if anyone in NJ/ Philly area is interested). Contact me.

Next up: metal oil filter housing and Fumoto valve.

Which struts did you get for the hatch?

I do a lot of camping/hiking so my accessories are not performance based except for my brakes/rotors for now.

On my truck I use and interchange the following:

Yakima crossbars 60"
Yakima roof rack
Thule HideAway awning w/ sun/rain panels.
Yakima Slim Shady awning for the other side
Eno Roadie Hammock stands
Lockerdown center console safe

Mostly I transport a canoe and I've just been playing with other stuff that utilized my crossbars. I have not really explored a lot of interior mods but am interested in the Rago Fabrication rear storage panels. I don't know what all is out there to be honest. Does anyone use the weathertech phone holders. I'd like to build a PVC 5-6gal pressurized water tank so I can clean up in back country, I've seen a few videos and there are some great options out there. I have not explored this here yet but hopefully will find a few users who have already who have attempted this.

I have not really explored a lot of interior mods but am interested in the Rago Fabrication rear storage panels. I don't know what all is out there to be honest.

I did a bit of research on these as well. While the Rago panels look and perform well, I think I’m going to go for the BP Fab panels and pet barrier. They are aluminum which I like for modifying and weight factors. I can also use the pet barrier to store things as well if I’m not bringing the mutts with me.

Thank you for that, I have a pet barrier in place for my pup but would like to explore a few other options. What I have now is DIY and could use some improvement. My barrier is stable so it won't shift but I'd love to see what else is out there. I know the Rago is very expensive but I do feel you get what you pay for with this stuff. :nod:

First off, I bought my 2019 ORP in August 2019 as a leftover and kept my 2008 T4R as well as owning a 2007 Mustang GT, my wife's cadillac, my bass boat, 3 dogs and 6 1/4 wooded acres, my money is going to many other "projects". With that said, here's what I've done to my '19:

Center console tray
Black/red trim rubber inserts (all cup holders, tray, etc)
Replaced front seat center solid pleather with perforated leather (more breathable, less sweating)
Roof rack rails
Predator side rails/steps
S&B intake
Chrome exhaust tip
TRD oil cap
Metal oil filter housing
Sprint Booster
Monogrammed license plate frame with "SPENDING MY KID'S INHERITANCE"

I bought used so it came with KO2s, but otherwise that likely would have been first
Center console organizer (don't know about trays, mine just splits it into 6 smaller compartments)
Husky floor and cargo mats
Dash cam (Viofo A129 Pro, although the A119 is decent as well)
Sun shade
Metal oil filter housing
Recovery equipment (hitch shackle mount, straps, dynamic rope, etc)
Seat covers (covercraft brand)

By far though, I am most excited about finishing my sgt keebler cargo storage build, despite my abysmal carpentry skills.

Not knowing what model year and what you already have, here’s some easy ideas:
Interior mods like better lighting, LED bulbs. And if you’re electrically handy: Automatic center console lid light, anytime 12V accessory socket. Search the site for these mods.
Exterior bulbs to LED like license plate, reverse, turn signals. Better halogen headlight bulbs: the H11 to H9 & 9005 to 9011 Conversion. See pics at post # 122.

I've added an "A" pillar grab handle, glovebox divider, front and rear recovery points.
Seat covers and rubber floormats help with d
Az dirt and mud.
Window "vent/shades" are functional & cosmetic.
Purely cosmetic was blacking out the roof rack.When I got it, gently used, it was all blacked out except the rack.
It also came with tinted windows, 1½" front leveling spacers, Mickey Thompson wheels and Toyo Open Country 285/70R17 tires.

Steering Wheel Cover (wish I had done this sooner, as I only got a leather cover sewn on after the plastic on the steering wheel had started to decay... the leather sewn on is really nice)

I wasn't a huge fan of the glove box organizer, having to pull it to gain access to the cabin filter and I store a couple of items that were longer than the organizer wasn't advantageously helpful with in there.

Was this something you had done at a local upholstery shop, or is there something out there I need to buy? This is probably at the top of my short list of annoying things about my awesome T4R.
