Just a quick fyi....
I purchased my 06 SE 4 Runner at 100 over invoice.
If you're in the market call and ask for Jay the Internet Manager.
Mohammed Dada was my salesman and these guys were a class act.
Some dealers are afraid to sell cars but DCH took MY deal.

I've purchased 5 new cars and this was, by far my best experience with a saleman and manager.

Glad you had a good experience, mine totally sucked.
Got screwed on my deal and they don't return phone calls.

That place is five miles from my house, but I purchased mine at James Toyota in Flemington, NJ because at the time they offered 0 % over 60 months

Glad you got a good deal. Never going back to that place again, partly because I picked up an Lexus 400h instead.

It's funny how we all have difference experiences at these dealers. James was terrible for me as to price/deal, so was Dayton. I ended up in Lawrenceville for the last 3 Toyota's, not only are they the closest but their price always started out better befor I did any haggling.

Here is how I purchase, I decide exactly want I want and then research prices for that vehicle/options, I also have financing in place at the cheapest bank I can find-financing is negotiable with a dealer. When I walk into a dealship I tell the salesman that I'm buying a vehicle today-not tomorrow, I know what I want and then I put an alarm clock on his desk-set to go off in 45 minutes. I tell him he has that amount of time to sell me it or I am gone for good(I don't include the final paperwork in that time). Knowing what you want eliminates them stalling you with options, knowing fair market value or what you want eliminates them fooling around with prices and again options. Giveing them a time limit and telling them you "are going to buy today" lets them know you are serious and they can't stall you to keep you from going somewhere else. I got up and left a salesman at James Toyota when the clock alarm went off, she was in mid-sentence(just B/S) and I left her speachless.

I'm sorry to the original poster but that $100.00 over invoice stuff is generally pure bull, does anyone think a dealer would only make $100.00 on a 25-30K item. Not if they wanted to stay in business.

100 over invoice may be possible.
1. there's some cash holdback incentives for the dealer to move the truck.
2. some dealers want to move as many units per month as possible even to break even. why. to brag they sell the most and for the customers to come back to use their service dept.
3. dealers borrow $$$ to buy the trucks on the lot. it's like $$$ sitting there w/o interest.

btw, the saleman at crystal toyota NJ was a lot of BS wasted my time

Yeah the dealer will make money even if they sell you the car at invoice. It's like 4bummer said, they get it on Dealer Holdback, and other charges of that sort. $100 over invoice just give the salesman $100 dollars, the rest goes to the Dealer.
