What is the pin on the floor jack? Custom? Where does it fit?

I've wanted to wheel with you for a while now. But im afraid after you get done here I won't be able to keep up on any trail that won't bore you.... Good thing you have a winch, you can haul me up behind you

Or, it could spontaneously explode the minute it sees a hard obstacle and you will be towing me around!

What is the pin on the floor jack? Custom? Where does it fit?

It's just an extension I made for the jack. I found a tapered wheel bearing race that fit the inside of the jack pad, and a solid piece of round steel that fit inside the bearing race, then I welded them together. It's nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

Yea I learned the hard way to put a ton of anti seize on my heims. One of mine was (as far as I could conclude) cold welded, I ended up having to cut the joint out after doing everything possible to break it loose. Trucks looking awesome as always!

I had to take a while to catch up on your progress, you have been busy lately amigo. Very interesting using tube to line the cut fender, I have never seen anyone do that.

Good info on the Firewall Tubing also, I will definitely be saving that post for later.

Yes I have! I'm really looking forward to getting it out where it belongs, not stuck in the garage. I'll be sure to take plenty of pictures when the day comes.

Hey Jim! Yes, it has turned into quite the project, almost a full rebuild.

Ohio is definitely not my long term plan, there no place like the rockies. I look forward to the day my new rig can meet you on the trail again.

And thanks to Jeff ( [MENTION=21950]sn0wrunner[/MENTION] ) I have another set of doors. He gave me a killer deal, and even delivered them to me! I won’t have time to paint and install them this season, but at least I have them for down the road.

More work...

I tubbed the d/s firewall this weekend, I was able to measure off the other side and cut the whole thing out in one piece. That's a whole lot of sheet metal!

As you can see in this picture, all the support has been removed from the firewall.



So I welded all the inner layers together before I capped it.

The front bumper was in rough shape, and needed a color change to match the bedliner. It seemed like a good "nap time", and evening project since it didn't make any noise.





The winch fairlead looked like crap from several harsh winters, so I gave it a good polish.

And a little motivation to get it finished and on the trail. I would be lying if I said I wasn't getting burnt out, but it gets a little closer every day.

That's insane, chopping the firewall like that! So much unique work going on with this build, nice job!

Next thing you will have to do is a 2uz swap to push all that metal!

Amazing fab work man. I am slack jawed that you are able to tear such big holes in your truck and then patch it with the 4runner looking like it should instead of like some trail buggy that's beat to hell.

Yeah, I didn't realize I had to cut so much until I removed the coilover and test fit the tire. At that point there was no option but to keep cutting, I'm just glad I have an automatic!

Thanks buddy!! It's been a crappy winter here, so I didn't miss much when it comes to snow wheeling. Now that it's getting nice I can't wait to get it out on the trail!

Thanks! That's what I'm going for, I want the average person to look at the body and think it's stock (besides for some bedliner). Only the people that know what they are looking at will notice all the subtle differences.
