crappy cell camera. i will be swapping the LEDs on my e7009 tonight and will be taking some good pics to post up.

reverse polarization is as simple as removing the film and either flipping it or install new film. i personally have not done it as i do not care for this look.

Red LED E7009? Wow, can't wait to see the pics!

Not a fan of the reverse polarization? For me, it's no longer a want. It's become a QUEST (my holy grail)...............

Cut off sections?

Why is it that each of the sections seems to end in the middle of a sentence and feel like its missing the bulk of the instruction.... Am I missing something here? Please help, I'd like to take this project on but would feel more comfortable with (a bit) more through instruction...

Not on the SR5/Sport models. Not sure about the limited. Here is a pic of the pcb board for an SR5 shoeing no spot for LEDs.

The temp up and down arrows on the Limited only have general backlighting. The arrows are not illuminated like the fan speed controls are.

Finally I can contribute something here - don't think anyone has done this color combo.

I went with a white gauge cluster, white HVAC display, and red almost everywhere else. I thought red LEDs for HVAC selector arrows might blend in too much and wanted some contrast, so I went with blue (except for defrost). I think blue looks awesome during the day when they're always lit. At night, they're a bit bright. However, I've got a double-din receiver that doesn't get quite dim enough so I was never going to nail down night-vision.

I'm also planning on adding a blue ambient light, so the idea was kind of to match that. Oh well, I like it

Has anyone used just different (non-orange) incandescents for the "plug-n-play" portions of the project, e.g. hvac knob backlights, 4wd backlight. My red LED looks great at night but if i throw my lights on at dusk/dawn/rain and there's still a lot of light, it can look pretty bad with hotspots. are there bulbs like the factory ones but different color? any reason this wouldn't have a good outcome?

I tried skimming through and searching the thread but couldn't find an answer.

I'm trying to swap the red LEDs in the gauge cluster with red PLCC2 from oznium so they're brighter. It didn't work (now I know this is a resistor issue). Anybody know how to get this to work?
Also trying to swap fuel low indicator and a few others to red, any help would be appreciated

Not sure who told you it was a resister issue, I swapped everything in my cluster to red with no issues.

Did you install the leds with correct polarity? Even if one is wrong, this could cause an entire group to not light up due to the fact the leds are in series.

Did you correctly solder the leds to the board? I recently fixed a dudes cluster that just had globs of solder on the pad/led and it appears to be a cold solder as well.

Other than that, what wattage iron did you use? Did you burn up an led or the board?

Can't believe with the stock illumination I can't even tell if the arrows are lit during the day. Got around to swap in LEDS and man; what a difference. Big ups to yosh2000

Took apart a neo t5 led and install it to a neo4 bulb holder, seems to make my 4wd switch brighter. Stil thinking about puting a led strip in there.

only takes a few minutes to unwind and put it on another bulb holder. for less than 5 bucks, just make sure the wires dont touch each other thats all.

Here's how the led looks like and back of the switch, if you look inside of the switch you'll see the clear plexi that points to each h2 h4 and l4 and also suppose to light the knob up. You have the unwind the led from the bulb holders, the place the led at the hole, then feed the ends to the neo4 holder and bend the wires back to make contact, test for correct polarity b4 final install.
