just did the cluster and its a complete fail, the tach is fully lit, thr speedometer, only one led works, turn sig all works, none on oil and fuel, gear selector fully lit,the odometer dont light up, gona see if the guy i contact can help me fix it, anyone here thats local to me, im willing to go as far as san jose and sacramento to get this fix.

Sounds like you have some of the LEDs backwards. On one of the ones that don't light up, just turn it around and see if that fixes it.

Sounds like you have some of the LEDs backwards. On one of the ones that don't light up, just turn it around and see if that fixes it.

X2 on cdoyle suggestion about double checking if the LED's are pointed the right way. However, if they are the right way, check that your solders are clean and making full contact with the pad. If those two are done, you might have a bad batch of LED's. It's happened a couple of time when i've done other clusters.

Bummer you are experiencing issues. Good luck and let us know what the fix is. Would be helpful for other wanting to do this.

Not sure if you meant direction, but we are not talking about the order of the LEDs. What I mean, is you might have soldered those LEDs backwards. If that is is, you'll need to unsolder and flip it around.

also what are you using to solder your LEDs? One thing with LEDs is they hate heat. If you get them too hot, you'll kill them before even turning them on. So you want to make sure you're using a solder pencil with a fine tip and not leave it on the leg of the LED for too long.

direction of led is all correct, i am using a pencil tip solder. well right now i dont have any leds left and i need to find someone who can repair the job. thatnz for the input and help u guys.

well im happy, got the leds fix by seth, his info is on the oznium site, look for it at the plcc led section, he resolder all new leds for me and test it, now i have a working cluster. also look for him on toyota nation, something like prerunnerseth.

There is another member on here that is attempting this over in Bellevue. I'll find out where he is with his conversion. You might be able to crank out both at the same time.

i talk to seth and he said i did a bad job, not the worst he has seen tho, he told me some people really screw up, like rip a part off the board out where the leds suppose to solder at. i was able to inspect the board b4 he assemble the cluster back, he did a great job, very pro for the 20 years of experience, looks so damn factory. like a machine that did it. maybe he used a machine to do it, but come on, hes an Application Engineer when i ask what he do at his work. he also have a nice fj. i think he hates my ride since its more street look.

If you're referring to riceandpho, his are Blue. All the lights on the cluster are surface mounted LEDs.
