Ducmonsta's Build Thread-very pic heavy!

To answer some questions (Antman), I have done nothing for sealer. The grommet you see there is drilled just enough to allow the wiring through with the electrical tape wrapped around. I have not discovered any leaks, yet.

Here are/were my thoughts. Water would have to get through the grommet, into the shark fin, through the seal from the original sat antenna, and then through the gasket of the fin. I guess it's possible, but not very probable. I'm still going to seal it with some black silicone for good measure. I just haven't taken the time to get a good "applicator" for it yet. I was going to try and find a small seringe that would allow me to pump it into the grommet.

What is that fin made of anyway- ABS?

HaHa...no problem.

The fin is made of plasitc. Wheter it's ABS or not, I couldn't tell you. But it drills and dremels through very easily.

The fin is held down by a nut with a through bolt. Imagine a hollow bolt. That bolt is a part of the baseplate of the antenna. Wires go through the hollow part of the threads and nut holds everything down. The only trouble you may come accoss is the diameter of that "hole" in the bolt (or threads in this case). I barely got 3 12-14ga wires through it.
 
Gotcha- I may enter the truck a different way once inside the fin- but I love this idea! I have been wanting to bypass the "hatch-entry" for awhile now.

I would like to give credit to GotMo37. He's done a majority of the labor intensive side of the electrical. I'm an idiot when it comes to relays and such. He's now joined us coming from a 3rd and 4th. Officially a 5th gen part of the family. Although he stays pretty quiet on this forum. I'd like to get him on here more often because he's got some great ideas.

He's in a 2012 LTD. I'm totally jealous of the power steps! They are bad ass!(not for you hardcore wheelers out there)

Maybe, I'll come up with a STOUT slider/power step!

Hey Duc, how far are you from DC? I'll be headed there in Sept, and would like to do some Carbon Fiber wrap like you did, looks awesome!

We're 25 miles west of dc. However, we don't do the interior work. I did that on my own time. It takes a lot of patience. Don't know if I'd do it again.
 
I didnt realize that you worked for a shop until I looked at your Signature.... How much would it run me to do all the exterior trim (chrome) like yours... just on a White limited! And is that other black 4runner yours too?
 
Duc - I was looking at your thread and 4Runner and then thought Holy **** - High Tech installed my lift / wheels / tires a little over a year ago.

Great shop you've got over there in VA. Quality work and very cool guys.

A couple of questions on your Rigid LEDs.
How bright are they compared to stock headlights?
What type of pattern to the give? Does the pattern to fill from the close to the truck out to low beam, high beam, pencil beam? How wide is the beam?

I'm looking for something like them that will flood light from real close to at least past low beam, preferably out to high beam and a wide beam, almost as wide as fog lights.

Any pics of the beams on trail/road/wall would be helpful if you have them.
