Ok, so the other day some buddies helped me do my ball joints. So I didnt have the disaster that others have had.

after we were done, we were standing around talking about our 4runners and my friend with some smoked tail lights wanted to trade, so it took me all of 10 seconds to say yes, and we swapped em out right there


heres a pic, its a small mod, but a mod nonetheless

So, I had a bit of rake with the 8wrap LC coils, basically the front was at about 37-38 inches ground to fender and the back was at 39 maybe 39.5 or so...

then I put in the 9 wraps and my back end got up to about 41.5 inches, so I had a bit more rake

today, a friend and I went and adjusted the fronts which turned out to be more difficult than we thought, I got a brand new small spanner wrench from toytec yesterday and it twisted and bent on the first couple of turns... so he rigged this up to hold the bottom ring still while I cranked on the top ring.

its now sitting about 2 inches higher at 39.5" ground to fender in the front.

it looks way meaner and feels a ton taller even though its just 2 -2.5 inches or so...

So did you max out the Toytec's? What's your CV angle look like? Your boots look fairly new so I doubt you'll have an issue.

I was wondering if you use those OME trim packers when you installed your LC coils. Or do you just pop the coils in there with the cone bumpstops and call it good?

Did I max them out? No... I could go higher and prob be ok, but I wasnt interested in being even, just close.

Yeah, I have special inner boots from CVJ that are neoprene and super flexible, not worried about the inner boot, check out the link in my sig for those.

outer boots are decent, Ill take a pic of the angle and post it up.

Ok, so I had a busy day lined up already, and I was running behind to start with, and then Gerdo (RM4wd.org) emails me letting me know that the Gas Skids were done,

I emailed my buddy Nquaint and he had already been over there and got his on. Being that I live in an apartment complex and cant be spray painting a gas tank skid in my parking lot, I knew I was gonna have to squeeze in another thing!

this is prob priority #1 now... I dont have anything else to do on the Runner right now, so Ill prob go look for some fiberglassing stuff soon here.

I also need to order a gauge pod, and then test fit it to see if the Altimeter will even fit.

I first bought an extending shower curtain holder cuz I was gonna go window to window with the pressure, I looked at the metal and u bolts that PSUarcher had at home depot, but then I found the exact same clothes hanger that MichaelM found at Walmart, the only catch was I wasnt sure if it would work the same way since there are no hooks in the back of a 3rd gen... or at least my 96,

Took apart the trim and put it in there and then snapped everything back in and screwed it back in nice and snug. I do intend on doing something similar with the velcro, but slightly different than MichaelMs set up.

then I just put a bungee across the back handles to support them and then Ill velcro near my sunroof and do the tips in there so they dont move,

right now small bungees hold them both on there and they dont move on the back portion.

Gerdo used my runner and the measurements from mine and Yoshidas rig to make sure that the Lil Skips Belly pan would match up perfectly with the Budbuilt front IFS skid.

from what I understand though, he doesnt want to compete with Bud in any area and will only do belly pans for those in the local Colorado area,(correct me if Im wrong Gerdo and I will edit the post) Im pretty sure he wants anyone outside that area to go to Bud for their belly pan. Both of them are excellent local shops and I respect both a ton...

I'm only building parts, like the tank skid, that are not available from another vendor. I'm building a few bellys for the local boys. I am finalizing my design of a steering rack skidplate that will bolt directly to a Bud Belly and tuck under the stock front skid. This is a good step toward a full set of Buds.

its not a shower rod... its very similar to this Walmart.com: Travelon Car Clothes Rod: Auto Electronics

but it had a different connector at the end... the 3rd gens dont have the hooks like the 4th and 5th gens though, so I pulled off the trim from the side headboards there and then put it in and then snapped everything back in place, it moves a little bit, maybe an inch or two front to back, If I wanted to keep it from sliding I could prob secure the hooks, but when I put it up I was in a hurry.
