Saw this on a 5th gen thread and knocked it out yesterday. I like the look of the black center caps. Popping off the center caps with the spade end of the tire tool is easy or you could use a flathead screwdriver as well. Popping off the plastic Toyota logos was a PIA, so I thought I'd give a heads up on that part. They are held in place by four small plastic positioning posts. One post comes through the back side of the cap by about 3/8" of an inch and is not glued in place. The other three posts have been cut flush with the back side of the center cap and siliconed in place. It's best to dremmel off the silicone on the other three posts and then pop off the Toyota logo with a thin pry. The fifth gen is a much better design and is easily removable. The rest was a piece of cake. Easy project if you dig the look.

I was already considering painting/plastidipping the center caps. This looks great with the logo still chrome...

I would recommend the AFE pro-s dry filter. The oil from the K&N might clog the maf sensor.

I have an 03 Limited V8, and I wanted to make sure this is the filter that you were referring to and that you or anyone else think this is the right model.

look into lamin-x covers, much cheaper and they go right over the stock fogs.

i put in yellow HIDs in the fog lights + the lamin X yellow film covers and it gives off a very vibrant yellow

How hard is it to put on? My son and I tried to put them on his headlights and never could get it to conform without wrinkles.....

It is pretty easy to put on. Since you are in Mass, hopefully you would have a garage to do it in. Clean and dry the light really good. Just take a hair dryer and heat up the material to it is really soft. Spray the light with the water, then apply the film. Work from the inside going out pressing the film down. When it starts getting to the edges you might need to heat it a little more with the hair dryer. You should be able to work out the wrinkles. When i first tried it i watch their videos several times.

i got some rubbing compound and cleaned the light very well before putting it on and I just used something flat to try and push all the wrinkles out. I started from the center and moved my way towards to perimeter of the light housing. It was definitely trial and error, tried a couple times before I was satisfied but the entire process didnt take more than 10-15 minutes for both sides.

I did have a few minor wrinkles when i was done, but they are not at all noticeable unless you're looking at it from a few inches away.

however, i did not use a hair dryer or any other heating source as momo suggested.

Has anyone attempted to use the yellow lamin-x on the headlights? Thinking the contrast on the road might be great, but what are the laws around it?

Thanks! Am thinking our problem might have been the air temperature being too low..... Lamin-X was thick and stiff and even though we used a heat gun (on low setting) and kept the whole thing misted with water we eventually had to give up.... Am thinking it might be worth trying again next summer on a hot day....

Thanks Mark , its the rola vortex rack , found the ad for it in Gen Discussions thread I think it was 129$ probably find in search , and the mod is from armortechoffroad 69$ I had my full size spare up there along with my camping gear so it'll hold a few lbs .

Thanks for posting this. This will be my next mod. Need a new rack but HATE the way the factory-mounted racks sit up too high.

Do you mean the fog-lights-are-on indicator?

And the green gear underneath the high light... do you mean the bulb looking thing underneath the high beams? Which is the headlights-are-on indicator?

If those, they're supposed to do that.. but there's always a way to do anything :]
I don't know about the wiring just yet, but you've got about what, 80 wires going into the back of the instrument cluster? I'm sure you could just cut one somehow (although I still wouldn't advise it personally).

If you're talking about something else, sorry for misunderstanding and can you give a pic or point me/us in the right direction?

Edit: I see what you see in that link you supplied. The green gear is actually a bulb with light rays coming out, but it's blurry so it's easy to see as a gear. Both of these indicators are present on my 2007 but I think the 4th gen pre-refresh may not have one or both of them, as the post below this seems to indicate.
