Easy Weekend Mods

Do you have a wiring diagram?

I went quick and dirty. I just bought adapters from a local auto parts store to connect to the circular 7-blade trailer connection on the back of the truck.

I used Hopkins #37385 Adapter (7 Pole to 4 Pole and 5 Pole) and then one of the two pieces from Hopkins #47895 to easily connect to the LED lights. The adapter marked which wire was for reverse. I'm sure there are more elegant solutions (such as http://www.carid.com/universal-trailer-hitches/hopkins-molded-cable-12605223.html) but with zip ties the extra wires are tied out of the way and hidden and the adapter can be easily unplugged to plug in a trailer when needed.

It would be just as easy to tap the wires before the trailer connector but I happened to notice the adapters before I took the time to find the right wires to tap.

Yeah that's what I figured. Why not tap into the wire so you're not plugging and unplugging all the time (I use a trailer quite often)

Getting into the harness would be best. I'll have to get me some LED aux reverse lights for my rear bumper when I build ot

Grill

I plasti dipped my grille and went mudding on Sunday. The mud washed right off the grille without a trace. Also, if you're worried about it staining, a clear coat will solve it. I had my cladding on my old truck plast dipped for months with no staining or peeling. This includes a NJ winter.

How do you make your grill look like that with the "TOYOTA" emblem thing?

New headlights and put on a new bull bar with some KC offroad lights this weekend.

Hey are those these..
Amazon.com: Toyota 4Runner 2003 2004 2005 LED Halo Projector Headlights - Black: Automotive

If so how do you like them. Also I was curious as to how they work without HID headlights. Also I love the red emblem!

Yes they are. I really do love them even without the HIDs installed they are very bright. I just want HIDs after one of the bulbs burn out to match my fogs, but other than that they are a very nice headlight definitely worth the money.

well i plan on introducing super nanny to the pimp hand by the end of the week.

For those of you who have iPhones, get DashCommand and use one of these as the bluetooth adapter. This app has the ability to reset the values on the deceleration and yaw sensors at will (using the "zero accelerometer" button in the menu) so you don't have to physically modify your truck. The downside is that you have to do a zero point calibration to regain traction control and stability control, but it only takes 5 minutes. Made it a blast in the winter here in NY :jump:

Not just for the "elite" iPhones...

lolwut? It gives THAT kind of mpg boost? Calculated via the OBC or pencil/paper phone app?

I'm tempted to go out right now and do it in the dark!!!!

Didn't notice a single difference in my V8. But I also have cat-back and K&N filter

Defo sounds too good to be true. I do an app calculation, but not sure when I'll have time to do the mod.
