I have a couple questions

1. Is it worth the trouble relocating the solenoid pack into the engine bay or would I be better served waterproofing the pack itself with silicone and plasti dip?
2. Did you cut a hole in your radiator engine cover or just completely remove it?
3. If you had your bumper powder coated by SsO how is it holding up?

Please- if you don't have constructive freed back please post pretty ladies in bikinis.

I don't have that bumper. But..

No - I would not relocate the solenoid pack. It should be waterproof. All winch solenoids should be waterproof. If they're not - throw them away and buy waterproof ones. A good waterproof solenoid pack is cheaper than just the extra wires you'll need to relocate the cheap ones up higher in the engine bay. But the pack is probably already sealed.

Remote just the plug for the winch remote. It's much easier and better electronically to have the solenoids with short bus bars to the motor poles rather than long cables.

IMO if you are going to have a wireless remote, put a master switch with a relay to cut off the wireless remote from the signal wires going down to the solenoid pack so someone doesn't accidentally pick it up and damage something.

You can either cut a hole or remove. Either works about the same. I haven't had a chance to fix mine, but I'm going to just cut a small door. Magnetic close on one end, small hinge on the other. Should be easy and cheap.

My solenoid is relocated to the upper brace on the passenger side of the nose.

I simple removed the dust cover because I have Popeye forearms and I would have needed two different openings for clutch and solenoid. No problems.

My powder coat is holding up fine, but I tend to avoid consciously plowing rocks with it. Mud and dirt yes, and there are rub marks from those. But nothing down to bare metal.

I have the bumper and the powder coat is holding up fine. No winch yet but I plan to get the Engo or Superwinch Tiger Shark. Either one I will run some battery cables to move the solenoid box to the engine bay. Did this with my tacoma since the solenoid had to be relocated for the bumper. Made a simple mount for it and had no issues.

I will probably just remove the dust cover to access the clutch.
