I plan on replacing my vacuum lines, particularly for the Charcoal canister. In fact, I'm considering relocating it in an attempt to build my power distribution platform closer to the battery. Hence, I'm looking for recommendations (ie, local NAPA or Amazon) for good quality hose because I want to know that if I try to relocate it and things don't work out, that's it's not because I used substandard materials for the experiment.

I haven't been able to find good vacuum line like what came on 1990-2009 Japan vehicles, had to go to wrecking yards and remove as much as possible from made in Japan vehicles, the silicon and washer fluid hose just doesn't work well for us, and I found the newer vehicles don't usually have much vacuum lines of any decent length. I didn't try any of the OEM dealers though figuring they would only supply specific sections as required.

Check with your dealer. I bet they have bulk vacuum hose in the back...

I actually got some vacuum hose from my local Honda Motorcycle dealer. The Service department had a bunch of pieces and sold it to me for like a buck a foot....ended up being about 4 dollars for the pieces I needed for my motorcycle, but it was just standard vacuum line - but it's branded HONDA and made in Japan.

The Honda shop is a great idea!, it's used for fuel venting typically so resistant to oil and fuel vapours, probably some form of EPDM for chemical resistance. That silicon stuff is terrible, and is completely useless on boosted vehicles or vehicles with a pcv system.

What exactly is wrong with silicon hoses for naturally aspirated applications? BTW, does anyone know at least what the inside/outside diameter of our stock vacuum lines are?

There are plenty of vendors that carry the OEM vacuum hose/"vacuum piping" in stock for Land Cruiser/Toyota owners, absolute Wit's end-$17 (kit includes 6-20" lines) , SOR-$17 for 23", cruisercorps, CCOT. I've have purchased from these vendors without any issues.
OEM hose 3.5mm for smaller
I've also purhased the Silicone kit which worked fine but later swapped it for OEM rubber vacuum lines. Hope this helps -J

Thanks, I'll definitely check them out. Unfortunately, I went and measured the space I had on the passenger side and it is inadequate to fit the canister. I'm not really sure if there is another suitable location so I'm back to putting my power distribution platform on the passenger side.
