glove box question

I was in there trying to find a rattle and I discovered an elastic strap on the top portion on the inside of the glove box. Any idea what its used for? Holding a garage door opener or something? There is a cut out in the plastic also under the strap...hmmmmmmm.

I'm sure the designers had something very specific to go in that spot, it's not a classic iPod, it's not an iPhone, it's not the manual, I can't figure it out either.

The little strappy thing is too wimpy to hold anything.

Edit-Just realized I was in the 5th gen section! That could just be a 4th gen thing.

I use it to hold the registration, insurance, and the mirror hangers for the various passes from the Forest Service.

Nope, 5th gen has it also. ALong with a place to clip your pencil. LOL

You sure the manual doesn't fit in there? I havn't tried yet, but it seems like the perfect place to put it and keep it out of the way.

If I recall correctly, over on the Tacoma forums, some people post that a noise comes from that wiring harness thats attached via a while clip of some sort to the Heater blower fan under the passenger side dash. I forget the solution though, either more tape or cutting the clip and using zip ties.

I also found this link, try some of these things out, I'm sure 4Runner's and Tacoma's have similar wiring harnesses. Buzzing noise from behind glove box - Tacoma World Forums

Hey cv470 if you look at nashmans 1st photo you can see the little black bolt covers you need to pop off to expose the bolts and tighten them.
