Heinous hefty fabworks fab time

Now, if they can't meet the deadline, they should communicate that with their prospective clients, and go from there. It's not that hard.

This. It doesn't matter how nice people are in person or how good the work is. If you are exceeding your delivery date, at least tell your customer. Honesty and transparency go a long way. Otherwise you are only putting future business at risk, both from the customer and anyone they talk to.

A few posts ago you said you were OUT! You didn't do what you said you were going to do. Just like the company in question - you work for them don't you?

Look at the roof rack stickers on my truck. Hefty and RCI! They must have merged with Orange Box in which I run marketing for all!

No I don't work for them. Yes, I was OUT but you drew me back in. YOU WIN!!!!! Happy?

Maybe this was not the best medium to discuss this. I have heard nothing but positivity about their product. Im just frustrated and feel like i'm not being taken seriously or appreciated as a customer

Personally I think its fine. You have concerns and I let you know my experience and opinion. I just get a bit annoyed when others accuse me of what I am not. You are clearly not that person.

I would be curious to hear others experiences as well. No one is right or wrong here its really about personal experience and I was trying to give you a bit of confidence.

I truly wish you the best on this.

There is no winner here. But showing a pic of your nice new bumper is kind of rude to the OP who has yet to get his.

I appreciate that and assumed as much. We all know how these forums can get out of hand pretty quick.

Maybe the companies name is related to their "Heinous" wait times?

So far I have refused and continue to refuse to buy/order products with completely obnoxious wait times. I would've gladly ordered a Gobi instead of Baja if they didn't have the notoriously bad wait times and customer service that would be considered "spotty" at best.

I'm amazed that some of these companies seem unable to hire more help to build up a bit of a back log in products?

With Gobi it's been going on so long that it seems like if they build up a stock of racks they won't sell them or something lol..

I have tons of professional welding experience, certifications for welding, inspection, and a degree in welding technology. With the shit service of so many of these companies I sometimes think I am in the wrong business, if the oil field/nuclear industry weren't as lucrative as they are for people with my skill-set, I would be starting a fab shop..

In defense of the vendor here - since we have yet to actually hear their side - perhaps they have issues and are working on solutions. It's a pretty common problem for an internet business that has a popular product to get more orders than they can handle. They get behind and things start to go down hill. I don't know if that's the problem here, but something is wrong.

I may have been a little harsh but I've seen this too many times. The products and people differ, but the issues are the same. In every instance where the issues were resolved, communication was the most important aspect. Hopefully the vendor will realize this and make some changes.

All too often people "white knight" manufacturers because they have a personal connection or they are just overly happy with the end product. Which there is nothing wrong with. But these people seem to skip over why the person complaining is, well, complaining.

OP, nor anyone else, ever said the people at Hefty were bad people, crooks, or anything of the like. But people almost seemed to be offended that someone had a complaint. That's just not just this board, its all of them.

How about this. You go to restaurant where you pay then receive your food. But there is a delay and they tell you it'll be 5 minutes. But suddenly its 10. At 15 minutes you ask what's going on but the person who cashed you out either doesn't talk to you or just says 5 more minutes. Its now 25 minutes. Guy walking out after eating tells you the owner is back there with his family busting his ass and they are all stand up people and the food is rated 5 out of 5 stars. But you hear nothing from any employee. Its now 30 minutes. See where I'm going?

It doesn't matter what the product is, how much it is, how great it will be, or how great the person making it is. If you fail to deliver on time and can't communicate with someone who spent their hard earned money with you, then that's not "good hands." YMMV.

I hear you and others who have contributed to this thread. I have stated my side and don't necessarily side 100% with any forum member. It's unfortunate. There isn't much I can do further. Certainly I'm not the only person with these qualms but at this point the decision is up to me to deal with it or request full refund. I had my 5 minutes of fame (complaining), I'm already over 5 months invested, so I'll do my best to muster up a little more faith and hope it did in fact ship last monday. Time will tell and if installed product is as advertised, it's on me to consider this experience in the future. I'm out, officially tho. Funny thing is I will probably be a little resentful still but proudly show it off to the interwebs. Life's funny that way...or my brain thinkins and learnins are...

this is some drabbits bullshit:behindsofa: if it were OrangeBoxxFab they would communicate but just tell you they don't give a fuq

I ordered a set of sliders from them on May 3rd and was told they would be ready in 6 weeks. I chose Hefty Fab because they are a local Colorado company, so I could pick up the sliders myself and avoid shipping costs. I received one email confirming my order, but haven't heard anything since.

I ran into them at the Toytec open house and asked if they knew when they might be doing there next run of sliders. I was told they had just sent a bunch to powder coating, so I was hopeful I would be receiving mine soon. Unfortunately I still haven't heard anything.

They do seem like nice people, and I like to support local businesses, but a little communication could go a long way in keeping their customers happy.

I feel your pain. I have a pregnant wife and two small children that could really benefit from the steps.

I find it funny how I've been designing a front bumper from scratch for a year now (dinking around with it in Solidworks on weekends, would take me a week full time to redraw it), I have it all cut out and am about ready to weld it myself, when companies can't even deliver a similar product in 6 months to a paying customer.
