I agree but if it's just the FMU then shouldn't be too bad except if shipper is using EMS or something. I only used EMS though because it was tracked globally even though it came at a premium. I shipped a good three FMUs from Japan to the States and I want to say at most 5500 yen or close to $60 for EMS each. For a sale price of $60 I'd say good deal if in decent condition. Just make sure you get the proper one, as in with or without the sunroof controls:suspicious:

WHAT THE WHAT? That's a really good deal, even if shipping is $100 it'd probably be worth it.
Yeah parts are pretty cheap over here, there are so many surfs, I didn't really notice until I got one myself.
I'll see if I can look into shipping and get an estimate.
I've shipped plenty of items from the states and the shipping was not too bad... I'll be looking into it and I'll get an estimate for you all, maybe we can start a 4runner.org NZ connection system - get you guys all the surf parts you want!

Right? Although I love my T4R. I wouldn't trade it for much. Maybe a Turbo Diesel 3L with a snorkel... BUT THAT'S IT!

Yeah they are super cool, I have seen them, but they are reasonably rare - they would be expensive to ship too! Would you actually want some if I found them?

Like you said - shipping. I would need to think about it beforehand. I don't even think they came in a color to match my interior. It seems like 90% of Surf's have that grey interior.

I found the earlier turbodiesel (1KZ) OK. It might be better with some upgrades. I would still prefer a supercharged 5VZ. I heard that later 3rd Gen Surf's came with the 1KD engine. I'd be interested in seeing what that is like.

Really? I have found the 1KZTE to be extremely awesome! I'm sure a supercharged 5VZ would be good fun, but the turbodiesel is so economical, it's amazing, and it has plenty of power. A supercharged 5VZ would be chewing our $2.20ish/L NZ petrol, whereas diesel is around the $1.35/L mark.
Yep NZ really is a spectacular place... Everything is pretty accessible, I'm 1/2hr from a lot of amazing beaches, a few hours driving south (4 hours at most) and you have mountains and snow. It's pretty great.
