With the help of [MENTION=120071]mtbtim[/MENTION] I was able to get all my fluids drained and filled, new radiator with b&m trans cooler, a Sonoran steel lift installed and some new-ish rubber to replace the beyond bald tires I had on there when I got it from the PO.

All this in just one day! Sick mods!

Yanked my rear carpet and power washed it. Def a transformation like the front carpet. Some carpet cleaner sprayed onto significant spots and power washed the rest almost back to new! The rear was pretty dirty... the previous owner informed me that before he got it, this truck was used to transport hay. ;-(.

The front and rear carpets look amazing now and the truck is beginning to feel more like mine...

It's not a bad idea at all because you can spot clean in the vehicle

although it's not the sickest mod for mall crawling this unit is a good idea. I don't intend on doing a whole bunch of cleaning now that I've got the bulk of it done but last weekend was definitely a cleaning weekend that could have used this thing....



I scored some 01-02 sun visors with the HomeLink button in it. I didn't really the 99-2000 models didn't have power on the drivers side so I have to figure out how I'm going to get power to the HomeLink button and the light in the mirror....

any ideas anyone?...


The visors were pretty dirty from the junk yard so I tried some carpet cleaner on them and they turned out great!

Gotta go back to the yard to cut a wiring harness to get power to the drivers side connector.





The thickness between the two visors is pretty significant. Almost twice the thickness.

You already have the two wires you need (hot and ground) on the passenger side. Just tap into them and sling two more wires to the driver side. Easy peasy. Unless you want to get fancy and make your Homelink control be on only when ignition is on, then you'll have to tap into sunroof motor power. I didn't bother, but that's just me.

I had a HUGE WIN today..

I was buttoning the dash back up & FINALLY got the new keys to be programmed with my ECU...

I’m not going to lie, it took a couple attempts... I was waiting for the red security button to stop flashing for way longer than the time I waited when I did this to my other build...

On my other rig, the red security light stopped flashing after only 20 seconds (instructions state it could take up to 2 minutes!) but finally after ~ 60 seconds the light stopped blinking, I removed the key & finished the sequence with pressing down on the gas peddle.

I confirmed that it worked by starting the truck & then programmed the second key, & this time I was a little more patient waiting for the red light to stop blinking. STOKED!!!

But I celebrated a little too early because my attempts to program the key fobbed failed miserably!!! I actually got it into programming mode on the very first try but somehow the FOB didn’t program!!! I tried a bunch more times with no success to get it back into programming mode so sad times... I was confused because I got it into programming mode the first attempt but couldn’t get it after that... I even attempted on my 2002 which I had successfully programmed in the past & I couldn’t get it to bite either... I gave up & went inside to try it again sometime in the future. The biggest pain in the butt about this is the locks get tired & then don’t even move! The lock solenoid gets tired & then none of the locks go up or down. Fricken sucks.
