ISR Mod write-up?

Where did you end up routing/feeding the hose coming out of the Silencer Box?

Clean Look :trophy:

So last weekend I posted a small write up of what I did to my airbox and this weekend I decided I'd change out my plugs and wires, and being you have to pull the ISR off to do it, I decided I go ahead and do this mod.

I was able to score a 5 5/8" long piece of pipe from a local muffler shop and had them bell the ends to just slightly over 2 5/8" diameter. Their cuts were a little rough, so I borrowed a neighbors bench grinder and smoothed the edges out. Then, using some wheel and rim spray paint that i'd purchased to repaint my center caps with, I painted the piece to give it a nice silver finish and hopefully prevent any rusting and add some heat protectant.

There are some nice ISR mod threads already written so I won't bore anyone with all the details of another, but after I changed out my plugs with some nice NGK's, and a new set of NAPA oem plug wires, I installed my newly painted intake pipe, pulled and reset the EFI fuse, and started the old girl up. I haven't had a chance to drive her yet, but from just giving it some gas in the garage I can't tell any real noise difference, although as my stepdad pointed out, "it does sound strong", for what thats worth. Looking forward to taking her for a nice Sunday ride tomorrow morning :D

Here's some pics:

Here are the pics from my ISR. It a really easy job and took me about 10 min to do. I need to get the hose on the right side of the tee better, but it is working for now.

Sorry animal, didn't see you had posted a "?" I just went straight back to the nipple on the front of the plenum. You'll probably have snip the first 1.5" of the tube off to get to some "clean tube" to make it fit right.

How wide are you guys expanding the ends out? I just bought a 2.5" inside diameter pipe today, taking it to my buddy's shop tomorrow to bell it out a little bit.

From what I understand you don't want to go beyond 2.75". My guy said he went just past 2.625", and mines pretty snug.

ID doesn't matter, its the outside diameter you want. You want between 2.62 inches and 2.75 inches. Just get 2.75" OD for a nice tight fit.

when re-routing the vacuum hose (fuel pressure regulator?) from the silencer to the Tee fitting it is now behind the throttle body vs before (stock) it was in front of the the TB. Does this make a difference in vacuum pressure and cause problems ?
