sad thing is, now adays, especially teens, dont seem to know how to drive stick shift.

It would be impossible for most of them to learn to drive a stick! They need both hands to text while they steer with thier knees. Seriously they steer with their knees,watch em!!My daughter had 6000+ texts in a month!:shrug:

1. MSRP: $33,298 and it was a discounted price that I paid (not sticker price). This is just the base model SR5 4x2 came with the convenience package, 3rd row seat, sun/moon roof, and the CD 4-Disc changer w/bluetooth technology. I didn't really need these options but it's the only one they have...and it turned out nice!!!
2. The ride is much, much smoother comparing to a Taco Crew Cab Pre-Runner, and the wind noise on highway is noticeably less (much less) than my 2005 T4R Limited.
3. People keep saying too much plastic...I just don't see it has any more than the 4th gen T4R..On the contrary, it think Toyota did an excellent job on the door panels by using leather-like vinyl and the workmanship are super!!!
We have to realize that this is "not" a luxury SUV but rather a mid-range one....We can't exactly compare it with Lexus/Acura/BMW or Benz.
I'm very happy with this as my daily commute vehicle...and plenty of room to stretch the legs on those long trips!!!

BIG DIFFERENCE!!! INs and OUTs are a lot easier. It feels almost like you're sitting in a Land Cruiser if you know what I mean.
The only thing I wish that it comes with is the running boards since it has noticebably higher ground clearance than the 4th gen.
That answered the question I was about to ask!
The SR5 I sat in at the dealer did not have the optional "sport fabric-trimmed" power driver and passenger seats. The door panel was hard plastic in the area in your first picture with (if I remember correctly) fabric where your arm would rest (area in the 2nd and 3rd photos).
I noticed that your passenger seat has power controls, so I assume you have that option. I'm guessing getting that option also gets you the upgraded door panels (which I'm also assuming is standard on the Limited).

seriously, alot of cars arent made in stick shift anymore. everyone wants an automatic or a "tiptronic" sequential shift. teens just dont know how to operate a clutch.

Yes, your assumption is correct! It did come with power seat option, sport fabric-trimmed, 8-way for driver and 4-way for passenger...Like I said, it's the only 5th Gen T4R they have...so you take what you get!!!
I'll get more close-ups pics tomorrow...it was kind of dark by the time I got home.

4th Gen, 3rd Gen and Classic T4Rs have "Picture Threads" sticky in those subforums. While the 5th Gen section are all internet links and teaser shots.
I think its not too early to have a "Member Uploaded Pics also sticky in the 5th Gen subforum.( just a suggestion) :surfer:
By this time there are 5th Gen owners just lurking, atleast its not hard for them to post their first forum post..

I have to say that an SR5 in gray does look good. A 'normal' sized wheel suits it better too, in comparison with the Limited.
I hope a cargo retainer net becomes available. With a high load floor and no lip, loose objects will roll to the back of the tailgate and fall on your feet when you open the gate - same issue I had with the double decker cargo with a down slope edge, until I got a net.
Kind of interesting that an SR5 with charcoal interior gets a gray lower dash and door panels, but a limited in tan, gets and all black dash, you'd think the lower portion should be tan as well.
Whats your first impression on the power delivery?? (dont be scared, tell us what its like at 5,500rpm! ;D )

Sales figures don't support that assertion.
Went down to my local dealer(Denver ) and asked when they are expecting the 10 runner and they said in about 2 weeks. The sales staff had already been to the ride and drive. Asked about the styling and this salesman described it as very Highlander like. I also asked about pricing and he said a base 4wd SR5 came in about 35 and change and a limited was at 41k.
I know. Basically I'm at the point where if I want a manual 4X4, I have to get something like a Tacoma or I'll probably just never buy a new vehicle again. Why can't it be like Europe here where people prefer to drive a manual. I almost bought a brand new 4Runner in 2002 until I realized they discontinued the manual transmission. I walked out of the dealership right after he told me.

My wife and I will be in the market for a "newer" 4Runner next year - but there's not much chance we'll be able to afford a 2010. They're so sweet! We'll most likely be looking for an 05-06ish..
