that's odd…everything i've seen thus far indicates that the Trail Edition is only available in Classic Silver Metallic or Black.

Thanks again for posting these. I think you have the EXACT 5th Gen I want.
Funny thing though is that I find it more relaxing driving a manual rather than an automatic in stop and go traffic. I get very tired in stop and go cause I'm always having to hold the brake cause the stupid auto tranny keeps wanting to make the car move forward whereas most times in a manual, I don't have to move my feet away too much cause I just play with the gas and clutch and just occassionally have to move over to the brake. I especially hate downhill stop and go cause I'm always scared I'll ease up on the brake too much and the tranny will just move the car too much forward. That's the major thing I hate about automatics. It just keeps wanting to move forward when I don't want it to and I keep getting told by everyone I should not shift the auto into neutral everytime I stop.

Yes, there was originally one or two listed in inventory for the southeast (see screen cap below). For some reason, they are harder to locate and Toyota's website does not list them. There are also a few "Salsa Red" Trail Editions popping up but no one has seen one on a lot yet either.
I don't know what the deal is.
Saw SR5 at Dealer Today
Saw a 5th gen at Toyota of Plano today. They had a Black/Tan SR5. They just got it this morning, the salesman said and it was indeed for sale. Listed under $32k - not particularly dressed out.
Sorry, no camera with me but I think we all know what they look like by now. I liked the looks of the outside and inside, and especially liked the seating position. It just felt right and was very comfortable. It may not be perfect, but there's a lot to like here.
I chickened out on a test drive. I don't want the "fever" to get worse right now. Salesman said they should be getting more in within the next 2 weeks or so. We'll see.

Since your dealer promised you the delivery date, check out the other guy's thread. His dealer paid for a 30 day rental of a Matrix. Wouldn't hurt to try that just so you'll have something to drive.

Yeah, they did and I'm almost over my btichfest. I'm just concerned it won't be ready by Christmas like they are saying now. Also, they told me that mine is a Magnetic Gray Trail and I haven't seen any pictures of one of those yet and Toyota doesn't list them so I'm a little suspicious that it even exists.

Well ,they definitely have arrived in Texas. The Gulf States 5 state region got their first batch of them yesterday and today. I test drove a gray SR5 then bought a Silver Limited 4x4 fully loaded except 3rd row seating. MSRP was $43971 and I got it $1200 under invoice with Lojack, GAP ins. and the 6 year/ 90,000 mile extended warranty. They did not have it there so I have to wait a week or 2 for the second batch to come in.They did get a print out showing it was reserved and had a got a VIN number. Supposedly on a ship on the way,headed to the port in Houston.Meanwhile they gave me a brand new loaded Venza to drive. It had 6 miles on it!Pretty nice crossover and them suckers are like $37,000 believe it or not.
They actually had a silver Trail Edition with Nav and KDSS down in San Antonio that they could have had delivered to me on Monday. They would have sold me that for straight up MSRP of $41,700,$1000 less then the limited but I went for Limited because of the full time 4x4 with the Torsen and all the extras like heated black leather ,Xreas,SOS,and smart key remote start.
I crawled up all up underneath it and the plastic bumper covers and lower valence/rocker panels are all bolt on and can be swapped for the black ones on the Trail Ed. I talked to the parts manager and he is going to look up the part numbers and prices for me to do the swap . The main thing is the front and rear bumper covers on the Limited and SR5 are bigger and color keyed.Too big in my opinion compared to the Trail Ed. but can be fixed. I'll Paint or replace all the chrome parts to black and change the 20 inch wheels to 17 inch Pro Comp/Revo is where I'm headed with it. Everything will be eventually blacked out as I personally don't like the chrome!
It is a alot bigger then my old 4th Gen. and drives great!It almost as big and kinda feels like the last gen. Seqouia as I test drove one of those when I bought my last 4runner. Very solid and the refined. I was at the dealer for 4 hours doing the paperwork and at least 10 people test drove it.
Oh, by the way the 7 pin to 4 pin towing adapter was in the glove compartment!Anybody could steal it if they wanted to.They didn't know anything about the delay.Maybe it was a regional thing.
I'll take some pics when I get it delivered. Go and test drive one and they look alot better in person to me at least!And I'm the one that matters in my opinion as I have to pay for it.They should be everywhere in he next week or so.:boink:

Finally a member has one, it is great too see your pictures. I think now that I see it, the interior looks pretty good. It does look bigger in your pictures, just like you said, a baby Sequoia. The trunk is kind of wierd though. What is it with about a 4" to 6" raise from the opeining of the trunk. On my 3rd and 4th it is basically flat on the bottom.

The 4" raise is either for the fold-flat 3rd row seat or the cargo slide-out! (mine is 3rd-row seat).
Drove it to a Walmart store today...when I got out, there was small crowd (must be T4R fans!!!) gather around my '10 T4R admiring it and trying to look inside. Anyway, I drove home and discover fingerprints all over the windows...

I know some people were concerned about the window switches being so high. What do you think?

Honestly, I think it could be better if they were lower it....but it is what it is and I'm fine with either way.....I've seen some luxury cars started placing the window switches that high now aday as well!

Congrats on the purchase, nice looking truck for sure. I like the colors, and the wheels are tight - best SR5 rims to date. I want to see some off-road pics! With "noticeably more ground clearance", you should show us how you plan to use it!
