Haha… By the time you fix all that crap, you'll be half way to a solid axle. Sounds to me like you could benefit from it as much as you guys wheel.I have some welding to do this weekend. I guess beating on my truck over and over has started to take its toll. I noticed some things started to break. The Oem front crossmember that the skid bolts to has started to rip off the frame, I have a cracked coil bucket on my drivers side. The crack is small so ill weld it before it gets worse. and the Core support (the front of the body that the radiator bolts to as well as what the front body mounts are attached to) Has completely broke apart on the drivers side. There is about 3" of cracks and every spot weld is broken.
Other than that the truck is good

Pictures from last moths rubicon trip, and this weekends mottino was run
So, I figured i would update with some pictures. I finished up fixing my truck this weekend. Welded up so stuff. Replaced the steering rack guide a few weeks ago. and the uca's which were wobbling from bad bushings.
I ran the rubicon in early september. It was so fun in the 4runner. No broken cv's. We had a good small group of ifs toyotas. I rocked the only 4runner. I posted up pics in the offroading section but no one even looks at that section. I have been wheeling the heck out of my truck since the con, But i ran mottino wash on saturday night. It was burly. we didnt even get to the trailhead till 1230 I got home at 5am I got a few pics of that too:

More from the trip: This trip lasted 7 days. Only 3 spent on the con. We stopped by pismo on the way home since we still had some of Nine 18packs we bought.... =)
Thats about it for the con. It was the funnest trip ever. I got a couple dents here and there. Nothing too major. Every truck in the group got body damage. Even the 09 tacoma with no bed or doors.. Justin managed to to get both sides of the cab just a little =) No broken cv's the only thing was justin ripped off two valve stems (fixed) and tyler (silver extracab) blew a tire off the bead 3 times and ripped a sidewall. Justins tie rod end also had the nut come almost off at the end.... It was a great trip

Represent! Only 4Runner in the group and ran it like a champ. That looks like it would be a blast, and to finish out camping on the beach with some brew... perfect end.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah it was super fun. Seriously the funnest trip ever. Pismo was worth the extra little drive.=) But my truck was RUSTY when we left the beach. There are dunes there and the sand is full of salt.

Looks like an EPIC trip! The Rubicon is on my bucket list, I've wanted to run that trail for a long time. It's good to know that a bunch of IFS rigs can make it through there without any major issues (of course driving skill and style play a large role in that). Are you still running the NAPA CV joints?

On the drivers side i have a napa, Its been in there for 3 months and has been through some tough trails. On the passenger side i have an old OEM cv off my truck. I took it off the truck around 200K (i broke a lbj and the inner joint pulled apart, so i replaced it and kept it. I but the inner back together and it was a spare) It has a ripped inner boot and the outer fell off. So i ran the con boot-less basically on that one.I also have 2 new napas in the truck that i warrantied from breaking 2 other napa cv's. a d i also have a Napa reman unit. I had a junk OEM cv that i turned in for a core. So i carry 3 spares.
The rubicon IS PERFECT FOR IFS. it was so fun. You All have to make it up there sometime. Im planning a run next year. Ill hit you guys up about a run. Maybe get a few more people than out last group. As long as we have 10 trucks or less it will be really goo. And take 4 days. to slow it down and take in the scenery. It will be a good time. Wheeling, Camping, Beer, Swimming... Just a good time

Maybe get a few more people than out last group. As long as we have 10 trucks or less it will be really goo. And take 4 days. to slow it down and take in the scenery. It will be a good time. Wheeling, Camping, Beer, Swimming... Just a good time

Well broke my 4th cv joint this season last weekend on john bull in the snow. It was an old oem cv with probably 200K on it. The inner boot had been ripped apart since the rubicon run, and the outer boot had fallen off. This was on my truck along time ago and i replaced both with new napa cvs and kept this as a spare. I had been warrantying the lifetime Napa joints but this time i decided to try a stock cv. They all break

This was an easy change since i cut my budbuilt skid so i could pop the cv out of the diff with the skid on..
I decided on 5.29 gears. Those will be in by jan 1st. Most likely ill order the front diff on my last week of school for this quarter. and the rear gears im hoping trail gear has some sort of sale so i can save a few bucks. Ill just use trail creepers and they tg master kit with a solid spacer in the back. Ill be setting it up so ill post some pics.
And im looking at 315's right now. my bfgs have been a disappointment less than 10K over 50% worn. the sidewalls look trashed. I know i wheel alot, but still... The only this i can say that was good is that they sure to stick on dry rocks, and i never popped one.
Im basically se on goodyear kevlar mtrs. My friend has a set, has 30K on em, wheels harder than i do and they look great still only about 50% worn. and the 315's run a little big with that tire. I can get em to my house for $1100, but i think ill try some price matching and try for $1000. then ill sell my bfgs for 150 or something to help with the costs

Im always having a good time when im wheeling!!! Well i have 3 (one in the truck and 2 spares) brand new napa cvs with lifetime warranties and they were $87.99 before tax. I have broke 3 of these this year and warrantied each one, But i get the feeling the warranty was one time per unit....
and I got tired of arguing about why they break so i have 2 refurbished napa cvs, one is in the truck and one is a spare these run $59.99 before tax no warranty and you need an old broken cv for a core.
so i roll with 5 cv's
I always carry 3 spares. That way you can break 2 and when your good buddy breaks and doesnt have one you can give em one for the day. Actually i have 3 spares because i was worried about breaking on the rubicon. That way I could break one a day and still be good to go. But i didnt break any. Now im OCD and just keep the 3 spares in the truck
