J-money build thread

That website is a scam. Free shipping with a $560 handling fee on a set of 4 tires.... I have been looking all over for a good deal, but its just not happening.

I have been thinking about running a spool in the back and selling my rear lockright too. Its kinda a pos, and a spool for tg is $130 thats not too bad imo.. CHoices choices.... :)

Ill be in the diff swapping bearings and whatnot anyways. The spool is just a little thought. Im not set on it. I know no one on here really runs em, but Im not opposed to it.

I saw that. It never added the handling fee when I went to checkout. I would call and ask.

I will. Im cool with swampers. from what i have read they really are great tires for wheeling. those would need a little grooving job, but im sure the circular saw set about 1/2" deep Could do a great job to break up the large outside lugs.

Like we said go stupid next time... Spool, bias ply swampers. :)

4wheelonline.com has em 10% off- come out to 219 or so a pop... Thats cheaper then I got my kumhos for, Im a lil bummed lol

Ill call and see whats up with his prices :) thanks for the heads up. And thanks for that link to 4wheelonline

Sooo i have a new question. IF Super Swamper irok radials are the same price as goodyear mtr kevlars would you go with the iroks for a wheeler????

To me the iroks are a classic choice on a wheeler I can believe they are the same as the mtr's because irok radials seem to be expensive

Super Swamper irok radials because of their sidewalls

Talked to an Interco tire dealer this morning and he said "LTB is out of stock with no estimated ship date, sorry."

On pirate they talk about how Interco moved factories and how production may be delayed up to 24 months on certain models. Iroks are made in the USA and not one of the affected models.

Allright. Got kevlar mtr's on the way. they run true to size and had a $80 rebate. I caved in and got the full warranty for replacement which according to the rep at discounttiredirect includes offroad damage. IT was under $100 for the warranty for the set.

Ordered gears for the back from trail gear.

Got a tripple drilled flange (must get a different flange since our v6 diff uses 30 spline and the aftermarket gears are 27)
solid pinion spacer
master install kit
v6 5.29s got it all shipped fro $340

Im going to order the front diff in a week from ecgs (during finals week) so as soon as im out of school i can set up the rear and drop the front in.

SOOoOOOO Stoked

Yeaah buddy. These mtr's run true to size. way bigger than these km2 285's. I have some cutting to do. THe front diff will be here mid next week. got the rear gears ill probably install that stuff on the weekend. then drop the front, put the aussie locker in the new front and slap it in in the middle of the following week. then time for some tubbing :) and chopping.

Threw the old sway bar back on the front to hopefully help these new tires wear evenly. my km2s wore out on the inside/outside and i think its from all the body roll in the corners

Can't wait to wheel with ya with those big ol mofos!

Dude im 50/50 on putting the front locker in the new diff... What do you think? I can keep it and put it in later if i wanted. I just am tired of snapping cv joints and these monster tires just look like cv joints worst nightmare.

Maybe ill put it in... :)

It's a damn good question. For whatever reason, your Aussie just doesn't let go easy enough so it's like you are locked most of the time up there, but I know you said Scuba's works better than yours. Is your new front diff coming set up with a new Aussie? Maybe that would be the way to go? Either way, it's gonna suck wheeling without a front locker now since you are so used to it.

Does Troy have an ARB in front or a lunchbox?

I've got an arb but I lock it on most everything to save wheel spin. Steves truck is alot lighter then us, but I think it might be Jasons wheel droop...I dont know...Scuba and I both have OME shocks so our geometry at its extremes is exactly the same. This might be why we havnt had as much trouble...OR...maybe its just Scuba is light and I'm slutomatic

I have OMEs up front too so that's good to know. I haven't had enough wheeling time on my 35s to say whether mine kills CVs a lot or not, but I broke a CV out at Calico last weekend. I can't blame it on the 35s though, it was making noise for months.
