Would you buy it again though? Vs a Highlander

Heck yeah. I love this truck. I only wish I didn't wait so long to get one.

My kids are grown and off at college so they only ride in it a few times a year. A little stiff ride isn't a bad thing. The truck handles great for what it is. The rear bench might get annoying for any adult size passengers on long road trips.

I only said what I said because I get the feeling you're like I was - coming from a car or unibody SUV to the 4runner.. My previous daily ride (still have it) was a Volvo V70 - so "bumpy" to me might be cadillac-smooth to someone coming from, say, a jeep.

All that said, I'm ditching the 20" wheels soon and moving to 17's. At some point down the road, I'll probably rip out the X-reas and go to Bilstein shocks or something..

From my experience, the non-Limited 4runners have much different ride and that may be waht you'd want if you don't need the Limited's bells and whistles.

Non limited softer quieter ride? Not sure what I'm after. Went to Toyota because I already have German performance car and need something that can take a hit and doesn't break when I sneeze.

Non Ltd models other than the TRD Pro have regular shocks on them,they ride more like a truck. Moreover,they are RWD for the most time ,that does make the ride and handling feel a bit different from the Ltd to me.

the pro has a softer ride (at least the 2018 and older bilstein equipped ones did) than the stock limited, but the limited has better on road handling characteristics. You really just need to go test drive the dif versions to decide what works for you. When looking for a new cari drove a lightly used pro a local dealer had in stock, didnt really dig the interior or color (inferno), drove an explorer (hard pass), drove a gx460 (didnt like the rear hatch or 3rd row seat arrangement), then drove a limited and was surprised how much more composed it seemed on the street than the pro and was drawn to the redwood interior--ended up buying one a few days later.

Also drawn to the redwood. Just can't see myself in a highlander although better space. I no longer have my old Land Cruiser for off roading figured I could kill to birds with one stone by having a 4runner.

Sounds like more good quality time in a Limited as well as a Pro (or other trim) and drive across a variety of roads in your area. The Limited might feel really soft to you, especially coming from an X3! It's all subjective.

Yeah X3 was M sport suspension.... its was teeth busting hard. Q5 was soft though. Wife's car.

Only down side in my test drive today was the head space... I'm only 6' tall and I didn't have any space.

Hey everyone. Im new here and I know about a month ago, I ended up seeing some pictures of someone doing an install of the trd pro grill to their limited. Tried to search for it with no luck (google and site search). They added extra tape to certain areas to make it fit better. Any help would be appreciated.

I'd love to see a how-to on this as well. It seems like those making the TRD PRO aftermarket would do a kit for the Limited.

Meant to post this here, swapped out the wife's Daystar and XREAS for 5100s and Dobinsons C59-448 & C59-325. Installing Camburg ball joint UCAs in the near future.

Tires are 275/55R20 with Spidertrax
