How did you darken your handles

Amazon.com: ITrims Door Handle Cover Trim for Toyota 4Runner 4WD N280 Prado J150 2010-2021 2018 2019 Car Styling Accessories Exterior Door Handles 8PCS Black ABS (with Smart Key Holes) : Automotive

10ish minute install and $17. Not perfect but price and time to looks ratio works great for me.

If you are standing at the car, you can see a little bit of silver from the top as they only cover like 99%. And there is a cutout for the touchpad.

Coming in late to this thread. It's become the not so limited, limited -

How are you guys blacking out the chrome trim, and the fender trim? I have a 2011 too, Bilsteins 5100 upfront, ordered fox and eibach springs for the rear (Bilsteins are back ordered in perpetuity), 17x8.5 -10, but can’t finish because my 275s Wildpeaks are also back ordered smh.

I have 5160's for sale if you're in SoCal, or want to pay for shipping to get them quickly.

Also, another tire option to checkout is the Kenda Klever AT2. Less expensive, but more aggressive and comes with mileage warranty better or on par with Wildpeaks. I have both tires, 4R has Wildpeaks and my F150 has the Kenda's in 35's. Kendas are more aggressive, though you feel and hear it slightly more than Wildpeaks.

It's been a minute!

It's been a minute. Updated my "Limited" with high clearance addition to the C4 lo pro.

2020 limited wheel udgrade

Hito all. I have 2020 4runner limited and planning to do change my wheel to 17 in. using 265/70R17 tire, what is the best wheel offset with no rubbing? I didn't have any lift just the stock suspension. TIA

TLDR: 4mm offset, no wider than 8" rim, without super aggressive square shouldered AT tires is your safest bet. note I said safest, not minimum

this is a difficult question to get a straight answer on. If you do an internet search you will find a lot of conflicting experiences about similar set ups rubbing and not rubbing, especially those that want to swap for the TRD pro rims which I'll use as a reference point

I went down this rabbit hole because I am considering replacing my 20" rims with some 17". basically here's what I found out. I hope it helps someone out there

- if you are running 265s on stock sr5 or trail rims, you will likely not have any issues as the offset of 15mm is the same between all trims EXCEPT trd pro
- trd pro offset is 4mm and I believe 7.5" wide. if you are swapping to a trd pro rim you MAY have issues if you select an aggressive AT tire and an AT tire brand that is known to run larger (falkens for example). AT tires generally have more squared shoulder profiles and wider tread widths (different from tire widths) than say michelin defenders. I say MAY because some have issues, some dont. If you are planning on running falkens or even nitto on a 4mm offset or less rim there is non zero probability that you may have some rub. tire sizes are nominal and vary slightly between manufacturers. I've seen someone run TRD pro rims with toyo open country ATIII and have no issues, another run TRD pro rims with falkens and have issues both on 2014+ trim levels. the rub would be minimal and a heat gun can solve this
- based on my above point, I'd say a 4mm offset is the lowest you'd want to go with at most an 8" wide rim
- if you have an older model limited 2010 - 2013 before the facelift, you likely will not have issues with a TRD rim and aggressive AT tire. it seems to be the newer models that have the rubbing issues with the TRD pro rims
- note the newer model TRD pros have fender liners modified at the port so the TRD pros with grapplers fit and don't rub

New wheels and rubber! 17 inch FN Six Shooters and 265/70r17 BFG Trail Terrains.

Loving the new stance of the wheels and mall crawler sidewalls of the Trail Terrains.

I plan on putting 33's some time next week. Can you let me know how much cutting you had to do to make them fit?

Do you have any other head on shots from a bit further out? I'm eyeing the Six Shooters as well. Unfortunately they're not available until February at the earliest.

Are you going to install the non Xreas sway bars from a SR5?

Sorry for the bump on this in the thread, but I have an incoming Limited '22 and this caught my eye. Can folks verify that the Limited has smaller sways than the SR5? I get that the KDSS is bigger (had that in my old '15 ORP).

Does the Limited sway quite a bit more than the SR5, or do the shocks take care of it?

Would love to hear if anyone has swapped the sways for street driving.

This thread is so long and never ending!
The thread really helped me with what and how far to take the front grill.

Here is my 2016 Limited with some mods:

Baja full rack (no sunroof cutout… I had this on my previous Trail version with no sunroof)
TRD Pro Wheels
BF Goodrich Trail Terrains
Removed side Limited Badges
Black Lettering Covers Rear Logo
After Market TRD top grill piece and center cover (this fit well in a lot of ways but needed some tweaks…will be glad to comment)

Talk to me about the aftermarket TRD top grill piece. What tweaks were needed and what where did you get it from?

Thanks
