Ah gotcha. Never saw them before and saw Magnuson tagged you on IG and never remembered you saying anything about you actually running one. I was under he impression they were only testing on the one vehicle.

More to come. I installed 80% of this kit solo. I was fortunate to have been able to have the guys from Magnuson provide me with some help along the way as well as some help from AJ [MENTION=148173]FOTORNR[/MENTION] and Bernie [MENTION=154966]MilkTeacoma[/MENTION] I am not the most mechanically inclined but I know my general way with forced induction from the car scene. All in all it took us 11hrs total to install. The instructions are extremely thorough and everything you need is in the kit. Outside of just the internally intercooled SC, you have your belt, pulleys, pulley bracket, spark plugs, heat exchanger, heat exchanger pump, coolant lines and other brackets. May be forgetting something's but I will post the parts list in a bit. An actual mechanic should be able to knock this out in 8 hours. The reason I installed it was I wanted to prove that mostly anyone with general knowledge, help from friends and patience can knock this out and save some money. More pics to come. Still trying to figure video out on this but some videos are being posted on Magnusons page @magnusonsuperchargers and my page [MENTION=4159]travis[/MENTION]hess_

Some things cant go straight to the interwebs. The initial testing was complete on their in house vehicle. There are pilot kits going out to individuals that went through the selection process and meet the companies needs from year and model, ECM numbers, location, etc. These individuals will be providing feedback based on their usage, vehicle, weight, ECM, ability of install and various other reasons that Magnuson deemed fitting to this platform.

Timing couldn't be better... Just about out of things I want for the 2nd gen so it's gonna be time to move on to the wife's 5th gen. I think I want to buy it and put it on without her knowing and just let her drive it to work one day.

Has anyone asked about heat soak with the supercharger placement? I don't think it'd be a huge deal only running ~6lbs of boost but I was just curious.

It has an air->water inter-cooler.
This design pattern is pretty proven. It's not as good as an air->air but it works and offers simple packaging and reduced pressure loss. An electric pump cycles the fluid up in front of the radiator to a heat exchange, the cooler plate sits between the intake runners and the compressor output.

Dude we need a ballpark figure for all this. Talking supercharger, Intercooler, pump, heat exchanger, pulley/bracket, belt yadda yadda. I can only sell one kidney and one lung.

i honestly don't have a ballpark number. But it will be relative to what similar kits sell for on the market. No less than 5k.

If I were to have this installed by a Toyota dealer that is on Magnuson's "Dealer Locator" list, how many hours should this take (by an experienced tech)?

Depends on the skill of the tech and if they want to take advantage of it. It took me 11hrs with help from two friends. I would say 8hrs max. But like I said it comes down to the tech and that's my personal idea as to timeframe. I'm not the most mechanically inclined but the kit was designed very efficiently and the instructions are very thorough.

I'll go ahead and announce that I'm part of the pilot group. Wanted to wait until I received it, but the kit shipped yesterday and will be here Friday (faster than I expected).
If nothing else comes up.. I'll start the install on Saturday and start a new thread with many details of the process and results.... :whoo:
Let me know if there is anything specific you want to see. I'll post a link to the thread here after I create it. I'll probably just make it my build thread... since I have never done one..

No there is no boost gauge. The buyer can put one in if they would like. I would more go for an AFR gauge or the combo. All tunes are set to 6lbs

Definitely doing it myself. I'll probably knock it out this weekend if nothing comes up and my body does not fall apart on me (dealing with another injury).... but it won't be until next week when it is running as I need to ship the ECU in for the re-flash....
There are a couple of local guys wanting to check it out. I was going to take it to the next cars and coffee at the oasis, but forgot I have rock crawling plans out in Mason that weekend. So may try to organize something with a group called ATXT4r on FB in the next week or two. If you are not a member check it out, bunch of 5th gens on there.
