OEM Automatic Headlight Install

I have found and ordered the OEM light sensor and dimmer switch on eBay. I can't seem to find either the SR5 or Limited wiring harness. Have a call in with my local dealer to see if they can get their hands on one.
Does anyone have any third party sources they know of for the wiring harness?

2006.
Just got back inside from doing the install. Painless.
Wiring harness - $15
OEM new auto headlight stalk - $110
Used auto light sensor off eBay- $30
A Phillips head screwdriver and an hour or so of labor and it's done. Works well. The hardest part was fitting my big hands under the dash to get the new wiring harness plugged into the light sensors. Other than that it was a piece of cake. Very good writeup.

Revisiting one of my earlier posts in hopes someone could help find an answer...
I have had this mod for some time and also have HIDS installed in both headlights and fog lights with a relay for each. Sometimes when I leave the stalk to Auto, only the drivers side lights come on. To alleviate the problem, I simply turn the headlights all the way off and then all the way back on. This defeats the purpose of having this auto headlight mod in the first place...
How do I go about fixing this? Both headlights work properly but I’d really like to have it set to Auto all the time and function properly. And and all help is appreciated. Thank you!

use a relay harness for the hid lights, one for lows and one for fogs.
a relay harness is best for hid since it will draw directly from the battery power than the oem harness power. the oem harness is still being use to trigger the relay harness. if you want to be cheap, you can make your own, but a good harness from theretrofitsource.com will be atleast 30 i think.

I actually do have relays installed directly to the battery. I’ve tried with and without relays and notice that it has the same effect regardless of setup. I also replaced my battery recently as well.

Maybe change to a time delayed relay. Usually with the lights on and trying to start. It creates a huge power draw. I know you want to leave 8t in the auto setting. But it maybe better to do this manually. Or just leave the lights fully on. I think it's a 30 second timer till it shuts off with the last door closed.
Matthewkristof - I think the other poster was indicating that you'd install a second relays behind the first relays that would actually kill the power to the headlights while the starter is cranking (ie, relay would open lighting circuit when 12V Starter circuit is energized). Time delayed relays would essentially do the same thing.

Looking at doing this on my 05, my question you say standard or dual climate control. I only have one control panel and it says auto, did you mean to say standard or auto?

I went to the parts yard and pulled two different sensors from the various Toyota cars in the lot. In the picture attached you can see they are different in sizes and the small one does not work for our trucks.
The larger one does fit. For those trying to identify which one they need at the parts yard: you can pull the sensor out of the truck and it will have the part number on it so you can verify it is the correct one.
The correct light sensor is 89121-12010 which the original author of this thread listed. The entire thing took about two hours and I had no issues with the install.

Just an FYI, the 2004 Lexus GX470 headlight signal stock has the same part number as the 4Runner but has a different fit when it bolts into the steering column. This means you cannot use a Lexus turn signal stock.
The GX470 has electric tilt and telescope so the interface is a little different. I had both apart at home and you cannot use it.
The sensor used for the auto headlights is the same so I now have an extra.

This is a cool thread.
It makes me pause and contemplate my decisions when people go through monumental effort to install a feature that I have and deliberately never use.
What am I missing out on? What are the life choices I've been making?
