Orderd a 5th Gen, what is the expected wait?

where do you go on the main toyota website to access that search page...because if I go to the mentioned dealers website It does not pop up in their inventory???

I can't find the dealer who actually has it. It may be in transit. Go to

GST Build Your Toyota

That is Gulf states toyota distributors website. For TX, MS, OK, LA

You may have luck giving the VIN to you dealer and have him find it. He will be able to find it easily.

I contacted my dealer regarding the specific VIN and he was happy to look it up for me. Once he found it he said that this specific one did not have a third row seat option...which is a huge must for my wife and I.

Thanks for the tip though.

This might help those trying to locate a 4Runner.There is a website called lemonfree.com that alot of dealers use and you might find one at some out of the way dealership. You will have to call them after you find it as I don't know when they update the site. But anywho, they showed 985 2010 4Runners across the country but you can narrow it down with your zip and how far you want to look.
Here is the link.... Used 2010 TOYOTA 4RUNNER | 2010 TOYOTA 4RUNNER for sale at LemonFree.com

when you folks have special ordered, did you agree to price on the day you special ordered or at fiinal delivery? asking because when you order, there could be a special ($1000 incentive) during that month, but then when the vehicle arrives 4 months later, that incentive is gone or there could be a better one.

my understanding is that any (non-dealer) incentives are only applicable when you take delivery. meaning that if there's a $1k incentive when you order, but not when you take delivery, there's no $1k incentive.

I agreed on the final price when I put my order in (12/30/09). Just picked up my 2010 4x4 SR5 last night with no hassle.

Rebates are seperate from your negotiations. Saying that, if you work on a price now and 4 months later you take delivery if the rebate is gone then its gone and I doubt the dealer will match it. Also if you do negotiate a price now with 1000 rebate included and next month its 2000 then you will get 2000 rebate because that comes from the factory and not the dealer. If they say your not eligible for the new rebate they are lying and you should walk out if they wont give you the better rebate.

However you would be smart to still negotiate the price now, because if you don't the dealer will be less inclined to work on pricing with you in the future because they know they have you hooked waiting 4 months on your order.

Can the opposite occur, i.e. if there is no incentive when you agreed the price but there IS when you take delivery, can you "demand" the application the incentive on top of the negotiated price???
if so how do you go about doing this....any tips

I ask because this would give me an even better deal than the one I already have!

thanks

thats the same question I have. If I order one now, agree to pay 500 over invoice say, then incentive comes out at time of delivery for $1000 cash back, then I should pay 500 below invoice right?

I made an agreement when I placed the deposit that I agreed to pay X for Y, minus any incentives available at time of delivery. I also got it in writing so there wouldn't be any "confusion" later.

Yes. Your negotiated price is a deal you strike with the dealer for what you are willing to pay for a vehicle. The factory gives you cash back which you can also apply to the purchase of the vehicle. In your case you would getting vehicle for Original deal 500 over invoice + 1000 Factory Rebate = 500 under invoice.

I don't know how Toyota works, but when I bought an Acura MDX last year there was a $3,000 "cash to dealer" incentive available - this was not a rebate or cash back to the customer, but rather direct to the dealer. I only found out about it via Edmonds, and so it became a part of my deal. I took delivery of a 4Runner a couple of weeks ago but there were no incentives in Gulf States this month so I got nothing. I'm going to take delivery of a Highlander on March 8th so am hoping that the owner rewards cash is still available since now I own a Toyota (it will be my luck they do away with it). Hoping for additional March incentives as well but not holding my breath. Toyota may take longer to respond to their issues, but perhaps we'll all benefit by a longer warranty in the end...

geese i didnt think of this before. now i probably missed my opportunity for a good deal. When i go order, i will make them write on order slip "minus incentive and or cash to dealer"

Talked to my dealer today. Ordered in early Feb. He doesn't have much faith that I'll have it by Mar 23rd (which is when I get knee surgery and will need an automatic... for 2 weeks, anyway). He said that there just aren't many Blizzard Pearl w/ black interiors in the US, nor many on the way. So, I'm prepping myself for a late April/early May delivery. :(

SR5 w/ premium package. That last one looks to have a cloth interior. My dealer claimed he tried to set up a trade, but the dealers said that the ones listed were already sold.
