Ouch! Poked in the eye. (Headlamp Assembly - HELP! )

Long story short

Driving along and heard a loud bang, got out thinking it might have been a rock off the side (what it sounded like)

Turns out something hit the headlight damn hard, and dead on!

Looks like a gun taken to it the way it broke!

No damage to anything else but the glass lens, no culprit inside the assembly just glass fragments/powder.

Now my question...

Anyone ever repaired one of these assemblies? Replacing just the glass lens to save cost? if so, where would I find such a part?

Any other ideas at a fix? any good source for cost effective replacement? my worry is a new one next to an old one would look silly too tho....

Maybe lastly anyone have a spare pair they want to part with?

Get a used OEM from the junkyard or even Ebay.....

Not covered by insurance.... as far as I know

I have a single one but it's the other side sadly, I do have a pair of OEM though if you're interested. I'd stay away from aftermarket ones based on past experiences, even the glass ones aren't very good. The glass is much thinner than OEM and the plastic is brittle.

ive replaced mine 3 times, basically i buy a new tyc headlight from amazon, then use a heatgun to take the glass off both housings and put the good glass on my original housing. the oem housing has a better reflector. this may be a good time to do some projectors if you are thinking out it.

I have a drivers side eagle eye assembly. The reflectors kinda suck but you can probly get the glass of it like D farms said

Got the exact same break in mine on the passenger side. Some clear silicone sealed it right up. Cheaper and works just fine.

Or buy a single $50 TYC Headlight and bake and swap just the glass. Keep everything else from your OEM lamp.

I have TYC glass. It's a perfect match and glass is glass. For the rest of the assembly as LC mentioned .... OEM only or your light output will be crap. Aftermarket lights do not have the same output and their plastic is usually garbage.

If you are willing to part with the passenger's side glass, I'd be interested... the junkyards around here only have front-end totaled 4Runners and glass usually doesn't make it. I've had a hole in mine ever since I got it.

Update!!

She's back to 20/20 vision!

Found a donor 2000 SR5 with one good headlight and fortunately it was the driver side.

If anyone is interested in the damaged OEM 2000 headlamp assembly (glass is shot, but the reflector housing is fully intact) give me a shout. Im not so ambitious to take it apart from the glass and save it. So if someones looking for the better reflector for theirs give me a shout.
