I had a question on your rear setup.

The part number from King shock says its 22.3" extended, stock shocks are just about 20.25. I was expecting a bit more length specially if we run the Toytec coils. Cant fully take advantage of the coils but I know that they are nice.

Are you running any limit straps in the back? sorry if you already posted a picture I skipped most pages (short lunch break).

This^ I ordered a full set of kings and tc ucas a few weeks ago, but didn't select the lifted option and I think I screwed up. I plan on running the super flexs as well, so I called King a few minutes ago and they need a measurement with the springs installed with the truck off the ground. Being I don't have the springs, do you know what the measurement is that you gave them for the rears Patio? Need to try to get my order fixed asap

When i was called king they explained that the "lifted" option is if you have something like a 6" drop bracket lift. With the standard 2" to 3" lift you should be fine.

I also called King and it was some extra $ and extra 2-3 weeks to make them custom specs. I probably should've ordered the 4th gen rear shocks and get more drop, but you do loose 1" uptravel.
King was super helpful and I know their shocks are awesome. One, I didn't want pay more and two I'm already cutting it close with their 3-4 week build time since they are not in stock.

I will run limit straps and still glad I went with toytec coils.

If I remember correctly my rear King shocks are 23.25" extended and 15" compressed.

I'm not sure a King rear shock from a 4th Gen would fit due to the reservoir line coming straight up out of the top of the can, which is fine on a 4th Gen because it is outside of the frame rails but looks like it would be an issue on the back of ours.

Love this build. I'm headed down the same path, just have the king coilovers up front with some spacers and OME shocks out back. Next is the King rears, and the Toytec springs, (thanks for the info, I was going to go with the OME springs).

Are you running those wheel spacers because of the FJ wheel offset, or other reason?

The wheelspacers are required to keep the tires from contacting the secondary shocks up front and the outboard mounted air bumps out back. I use the ones from Spidertrax (good quality materials and made in the US) and have never had any issues.

Do you know if you need to run the spacers on the front if you have 265/75/16?

I am going to do a similar setup with secondary bypass but will move the bypass tubes if there are clearance issues.

Would you mind sharing some info on what you are using for the front extension of your cargo box to make it a sleeping platform? Do you remove the seat backs for that, or just the bottoms? I really like the way you've set up your cargo area, more than the other boxes I've seen. I'm planning to build one this summer, and I'll probably base it off of yours.

Toytec Superflex Rear Coils
King 2.0" Airbumps in Custom Mounts
Swaybar endlinks from the front, about an inch longer than the stock rear ones.

Hey man so how do you like the TC rear links? Are they noisey?

Got the new Toytec Superflex rear springs installed (huge thanks to Miles at Toytec Lifts for getting them out to me quickly!). What a night and day ride difference vs the OME 891's. Even with the amount of weight I have in the back (one of these days I will pull everything out and weigh it all) they netted me an additional 1/4" of lift. They are so soft in the back I will finally get to play with the King's Compression Adjuster Knob, where as previously I had it set all the way to soft. I also like the Driver Side and Passenger Side specific coils to help with the 4runner lean.



Toytec Superflex vs. OME 891

Do you think the compression adjuster knobs are worth their value not that you've been able to play with them and the new coils? I am planning on getting CO's in the future and am wondering if it's really even work the extra few hundred dollars. I'd really like to hear your input on how much difference they make from softest vs stiffest settings. Also if you actually adjust them or just find the right setting and leave it.
