Project "put a blower on my hoopty" is a go!

Progress is slow but steady...

Ordered a dual guage pillar pod here: gaugepods.com (01-02 4Runner should use the 96-00 Tacoma/4Runner one listed there BTW).

Also, I ordered the rotor bearings I needed so I could reassemble the blower. I picked up all my SC parts here: Rolling Performance Home Quick shipping and everything was in stock, for anyone else with a SC needing some R&R.

If all goes well, I'll have an update this weekend with some pics (obviously that's all anyone cares about).

That was just rattle canned?

Yep, VHT wrinkle finish with some self etching primer underneath it. I took my time cleaning it all with steel wool and acetone prior to the primer.

Sweet, looks like you took your time, perfect finish.

Well I don't think I will just take it off to paint it, but maybe when it needs rebuilt
 
I remember painting a bmx bike in middle school with the wrinkle paint, everyone thought it was the sh!t haha

I purchased all the SC parts from here: Rolling Performance Home

It wasn't one big kit, but several smaller kits.

I'll give a half-assed update (no pics yet):
1. I did assemble the blower housing onto the larger casting (was waiting for my tube of permatex anaerobic gasket maker to come in the mail).
2. The BPV tube was sanded/primed/painted in the wrinkle pain like the rest of the parts.
3. Installed the A-pillar pod on the truck from lotek.
4. I finally got Orings that fit from McMasterCarr; funnily enough, they're imperial sized, not metric.
5. Got a custom made dynamic tensioner bracket from a guy over on TTORA.com to go with the tensioner that I picked up separately.

Should have the blower fully assembled sometime this week or next weekend. Then I just need to do some PM stuff on the truck before it goes on; valve covers, install cleaned injectors, etc.
 
If not to much trouble, time permitting would you mind sharing the actual kits purchased and gaskets. BTW, did mcmaster Carr have the BPV housing gasket. Thxs for sharing

There is no gasket on the BPV itself (only the 2 Orings on the BPV tube), it's a metal to metal fit; you just have to use anaerobic gasket maker to seal the surfaces.
 
Doing the valve covers and gaskets today, looks pretty clean in there for 161k (Rotella T6 5w40 FTW!):

Valve train looks VERY clean!

I run Rotella in many of my other toys (not toyota's).

I noticed under the oil cap mine has build up from the previous owner. I'm switching to Rotella after this oil change to hopefully do a nice slow clean-up rather then using an oil additive. I hope it pulls through!
