Rain gutter rust repair panels

I've got some pretty nasty body rot on the passenger side rain gutter on my '84 4Runner. Does any one make repair panels for this?

Has anyone seen any 1st gen 4Runners or trucks in junkyards in the Los Angeles area that I might be able to cannibalize?

Also, is there a tutorial for removing the headliner? In particular, how do I pull the the plastic covers on the interior of the A pillar?

What gauge metal did Toyota use for body panels In case I get ambitious and attempt to fab repair panels.

Does anyone know where I can get say 3/8" U channel that I can tack on to use as a rain gutter. I realize this is an awful solution, but I'm a bit desparate as my Yakima racks won't hold on due to the degree of rust.

the plastic covers just pop off. just be easy with them.

I don't know of anybody that makes a patch panel, you'll have to scavenge. Contact guys that are parting trucks out, because it's a good bet that they'll be scrapping the body and they should be happy to cut off a bit for you.

Any steel place should have some skinny U channel. Call around and find a place that sells remnants and offcuts and go scavenge their pile, you should find what you need.

Body panels are pretty thin. I want to say 18 or 20 gauge.

Thanks for the replies. I'll keep an eye out for parted out 4Runners. There's a scrap metal place next to my sister's place in San Bruno that surely has some U-channel that will serve the purpose.
