That's a good copy of my original aluminum one. Machine shops are easier to find in my area. I don't know anyone who has a 3d printer.

I just used 3m 10lb Velcro to mount my breather Don't hate , it's just temporary until I figure out fuse panel locations etc. It is pretty sturdy though...

We're gonna do one in a more robust material, apparently there's a type of nylon that's more robust in hot environments. Don't think it'll matter much since this isn't close to header or exhaust, but we'll do it anyway. Just let me know if you want one sometime and I'll see what I can do. Personally, I'd prefer to machine one out of aluminum, but I don't know any machinists.

If you have a decent drill press at your disposal, you could buy aluminum bar stock, cut it to length and use a small end mill to make the countersunk hole. Drill the mounting hole and then the other two holes and tap those. Done pretty easily with minimal investment.
One caution I can give. I had 3 of these made, all the same, and the ARB block that came with one of the kits was drilled just slightly off from the other one. With some persuasion we made it work, but you should have the block in hand to get accurate centers on the mounting block screw holes.

I didn't see the point in the ARB kit. I used fuel line and vacuum line to extend the rear differential and e-locker lines respectively. I capped each of those lines with 2-way breather valves from Toyota. Both lines are zip tied to the filler neck and extend as high as possible into the fender. They're definitely higher than the stock breather locations in the engine bay and that's enough for me.

I know this post is almost a year old but that's what I get for reading back through the thread. Seems like the ARB kit is fine, but I don't get the cost of the kit vs just extending the lines and topping off with a Toyota 2-way.

Anyone else do DIY?

Cost for convenience of having everything you need in a plug and play kit by a very reputable company, especially for people like me who had never done vehicle modifications before.

There are multiple ways to do it without the kit for much cheaper. You found one of the links, as there are multiple ones on this forum (two of which are linked in my first post.

I really appreciate your write-up, [MENTION=120701]Cymon[/MENTION]! It's been the reference for a lot of folks on here. I'm a cheap bastard, so I look at the ARB kit as overkill and am a little hesitant to run lines all the way from the rear of the vehicle to the engine bay just for a breather extension. And obviously if I'd been paying attention I would have seen the link you provided vs just jumping to your pics...

Obviously everyone makes their own choices on simplicity and cost, that's what's great about this community.

Going to install the breather this weekend. I'm split on where i should put/install it, in the rear of the engine bay or in the rear compartment where the stock lift-jack is stored (inside the rear cargo area).

Do any T4R members have their rear diff breather installed inside their runner or will i be the first?

I don't have the ARB diff breather. I made my own. I installed it in the jack storage area. Less line = Less money spent. I think I spent about $35 for the mod.

I have not done this mod yet, but that's a good location for it.

I think there was concern about odors from the diff venting into that interior location, but no one has reported any.

All of the other breathers are installed up in the engine firewall. The rear differential and rear locker (for Trail Edition/TRDOff Road/TRDPro) are the only ones that would potentially need to be relocated.
