Rocky Road Non-TE Sliders and X-REAS

Maybe I missed this some where on there board, maybe I'm just stupid but these sliders don't fit on the LE with X-REAS. It seems to me that with the way RR designed these brackets and their location that you would have to do some major work to get the X-REAS line up and out of the way. Here are some pictures of the brackets.

Anyone think this is salvageable?

The RR website had models for TE and non-TE. I assumed non-TE included LE since they could have called it SR5 instead.

From the pics.....I think they are upside down and azz backwards.Flip em over twice and 3 hail Mary's facing east.


Seriously,I believe you are the first with a Limited to try them and I bet RR didn't take the XREAS lines into consideration. If the XREAS lines can't be moved a little for the install then your going to have to send them back and call a "foul" on RR as a LE is a non TE!.

They would make good roof rails too!

That canister that's part of the system and on the side of the frame is in the way. It's not an easy fix like it was with Titanpat57.

These things are going back. They better not try to stick me with the shipping.

Rock slider kits can be installed on your vehicle. However, on your vehicles you will have to do some extra work in spacing the shock hoses and reservoir off the frame (depending on your year). Please be prepared for having to make a little extra effort in making any rock slider kit work on your Toyota. Shims (such as a couple washers stacked) or other techniques may be necessary, as well as slight bends in the tube (will not harm anything), to install any rock slider of any quality to your vehicle."

Did they not include instructions? Installing mine was a pain with the KDSS lines but they provided spacers which helped. Also, the single arms go forward.

That's brand new. It's obviously there because I brought up the problem on Friday. I have the original version for my files in case it comes up.....

Install instructions covered the TE and SR5. The email I got from them even says that Non-TE are all the same.

And for the record I had to call for install instructions as they weren't included with the sliders. They did email them to me right away though. They were very accessible, I had zero problems communicating with them.

I'm bummed out though. I was looking forward to these and now I have to go through the hassle of packaging them back up. These things are awkward and heavy so it's not going to be fun.

I had to ship my sliders back after they sent me TE ones instead of SR5 ones. Luckily I had not opened them and left the packaging intact. They sent me a UPS prepaid label I slapped it on and brought it to a UPS hub. Do you still have the foam padding it was wrapped in?

Yeah, I had everything and had to wrap them back up. Fortunately I had a role of that shipping saran wrap they use.

Rocky Road emailed me today. They say they have relocated the lines on other LE's so I've asked for some pictures or instructions. We'll see how it goes but they have been pretty good so far.

They also offered to send me a shipping label so have them sent back if I didn't want to relocate the X-REAS.

At least it sounds like they are making an honest effort to make it right, Kingpin. I also have xreas, so I'm following this. I'm curious to see how this all works out, thanks for being the proverbial "guinnea pig", I appreciate it.

The sliders were made correctly, very well done in my opinion. The issue is the X-REAS setup would have to be moved to install these. They originally did these on an SR5 which didn't have X-REAS so it wasn't mentioned on the webpage.

Sure it does but maybe I need to be more specific. They didn't design a bracket with no way to attach it to the vehicle so yes, there are bolt holes.

look at the bracket in the left side of your first pic. can you understand why I would be wondering how many bolt holes are in that bracket?
