Safari snorkel on a 5th gen?

worse part of the install was putting the fender clips back in without putting the fender liner back in...and I had no drinks to blame that on....lol:first:

also, I wanted to mention that this does fit the TRD intake. It does make it louder under acceleration, but its still very quiet under normal everyday driving.

Finished up a bit ago! Made a beer run for some destresser before posting the results though.

[Edit] Oh! For the big hole I used these Dremel cut-off wheels. I only used maybe 1/4" radius off one disc.

Thanks! This was definitely the highest pucker factor mod I've done by far, which you must already be aware. The bumper was the first destructive mod but that one is easily reversible for a few bucks. This one, not so much.

I just picked up the snorkel after too long of wait but I'm stuck. I really don't have the tools/skillset for a mod like this :embarassed:. Its 2015 Trail so yes I'm :scared:.

I knew I wanted this but now need to find an installer. Appreciate any reputable installers near/in Colorado Springs and Denver area. Quoted $110/hr with total time 5hrs by 4wheel in town...not feeling it (trust not $).

Was ordering some tidbits from my usual parts guy last night and asked if he saw any changes in availability on these, he replied that the container coming in at the end of this month has ~ 500 onboard.

How large is the tube at the intake/scoop? My jk had a snorkel with a 4"? intake, I still have the cyclone pre-filter I removed before selling the Jeep. Wondering if it'll fit the 4R?

I believe this one is a 4" opening.

I entered muddy water that was high enough to pass my rockers by 8 inches. The Muddy water entered my cabin and soaked into my carpet. Did anyone else have this probelm?

Well, here's my interior back in September...

More details in this thread. In this case, I discovered the front passenger drain plug was popped in and assumed that was the sole cause. It certainly didn't do me any favors.

I had a similar adventure, in my case it was a broken rear hvac make up. I also went as far as to silicone the plugs in every single floor penetration.

However, the door seals are not water tight either, as soon as you lose forward momentum you will take on water. Fortunately the seats and carpet come out pretty easily

its pretty easy, and you don't need a lot of tools

i used a hole drill, made two big holes, and then used a dremel to cut out the middle.

Honestly, you can get by with a dremel and a few cutting wheels provided you have a steady hand.

On youtube, there is a dood that installs a fiberglass snorkel on 5th gen....its really similar to the safari installation.

Slee or high country 4x4 are good, they will do it right.

I'm going to do mine this week after work while my wife is on a business trip (it's just better that way), where exactly are you around town? $550 sounds ridiculous, not sure we could knock two out in one night as I am not super handy so things go slow, but I am happy to help after I've done mine.
