Do you only need one of those Metra Cable to head unit adapters? I am about to place the order for the stuff you mentioned since I ordered myself a T9 last night with BF deals. Any way to get XM radio working too?

Yes, just one of the cables that's in the box. In connects to the cable behind the OEM clock... XM only works via streaming from T9 or phone or from Sirius Adaptor to purchase from their website. Tip: Keep the app running on your phone before you connect CarPlay or AutoKit.

No, sorry for the confusion. There is no Sirius adaptor from car trim. You have to get an external SiriusXM player. Some folks on here have it. You can not use the built in Toyota antenna to use Sirius. I use Sirius via the app and hot spot on my cell and CarPlay.
Got mine put in today and it’s awesome but a for a few things. Where does the back up camera hook up? I see 2 RCA jacks both labeled camera but no comparable plug coming from the vehicle.
Also, I think I hooked up the radio antenna but just getting static on all stations. Anything special I should know there?

The yellow female rca plug that is attached to the larger white connector is the rear camera one. Make sure the camera in the radio is set to auto. And it’ll work.

I've had my T9 for about 3 weeks now. After some iniital setup hiccups, it works very well and, in conjuction with my Kicker Key 180 amp and Rockford Fosgate speakers (mid-level, not top end), the sound is leaps and bounds better than the stock non-JBL Entune system. I am completely happy with this unit!!

Couple of quick questions:
1) I’ve seen a bunch of pics of people with a really cool screen (one early on in this thread) where there’s some stuff in the middle of a circle and then options for phone/nav/music/etc around it. Is this soemthing that can be downloaded? Can you download different “home screens”?
2) The phone app is kind of lacking but n that I can’t manually add contacts or save favorites. Are there other phone apps that anyone has used for calling?

As for the phone app, the one on the 4Runner unit seems to be downgraded version of what's on the Tacoma unit (per the folks on the FB group anyway). Workarounds so far:
1) Changed settings on my bluetooth connection to only allow "Phone Favorites" (in iPhone). Then downloaded the contacts to the my head unit. It doesn't re-download them every time it connects so I just put in favorites anyone I wanted on my car prior to downloading. Also kind of hacked it by adding "$$" in front my wife's name to get her at the top since it displays them in alphabetical order.
2) Use the Google contacts app. It allows you to start certain contacts as favorites. You can sort of dial from that app. If you select "call" it will launch the native phone app with the number in the dialer box. A few extra button pushes but a little easier that typing out someones name to find a specific contact.
