Doing the first shake down run after the makeover. One of my favorite trails in Washington and the drive is beautiful

Satoshi style grill

Building a satoshi grill with some aluminum mesh and round led lights. The trickiest part was cutting the main center of the grill and sanding down the attachment points and making them flush

Sleeping/storage platform

Got a couple ideas from a member post here a while back, and adding my own personal touches to this setup

Now to the front half of my sleeping platform

Stow-a-way. So the front half I made removable for when I just did day trips and didn’t need to camp. I also designed a swivel system to where I can move the supportive legs to be out of the way when the back seats are folded up. This grants me maximum use of forward-back space. If I made legs that were stationary, they would take up an additional 1.5” forcing my box to be smaller by that much. And any 3rd gen guys know how valuable space is in our generation

*front metal support legs are also removable for easy storage

Now to carpet the top section to give it that “cozy and luxurious” feng shui. Also stained the drawer doors but unsatisfied with how it came out.. so I might change it to a different type of wood and stain color. This is my first time doing this type of precise wood work

The plywood textures and the stain was too sad to look at so I redid the drawer doors in Pine with stain and “toasted” the wood wood to give it a rustic feel

Had some custom length sliders made, most companies make them too short so I had mine made to cover exactly pinch weld to pinch weld. Then I welded them on with some personal stylin’ gussets

Coastal off road full skids

Picked up my coastal offroad 3/16 steel skid plate kit. I also had access to a shop in order to mock them up, which made it way easier to make micro adjustments before tack welds

Coating my skids with the 3-step POR15 process and seeing how it holds up against abuse.
** Etched metal produces some of the most beautiful colors

Rock slider install

My coating process with this one is a little different since this piece of the puzzle takes a bit of abuse.
First cleaned/etched, then coated with por15, tacky dry, then sprinkled sand (for grip) then another coat of por15, bedliner for additional grip, then a rubberized under coating to minimize chipping... I know, a lot of stuff right

Lighting setup

Lights from extreme led light bars. Lifetime warranty and they seem to have a good selection of lights.

Marlin Crawler 1/4” rear differential cover install.
Performed same coating procedure as my skids and painted it metallic silver. (Also painted all my skids silver at the same time to add some pazazz) Then installed some OME 861 springs since I started sagging in the rear from all the weight I was putting on.
