T4Tools Build Thread

The next goal is to start making the front of my truck look better. I can't wait to get rid of the chrome tape. Here's the frame for the front of the roof.

Got It skinned and painted. I'm going to put marker lights on the sides and I'm fabricating some custom light mounts for the front.

First pic from the build that I saw was the pic at the top of this page with the tent awning and I thought, "this must be the most ridiculous thing I've seen." Then I went through the whole build. Holy smokes! Never judge a build by one pic. Looking forward to the rest of the process.

That's funny, thanks. It does look strange with the umbrella.

An update on the roof. I just finished a pair of lights for the front. I took an old pair off my rally car and made the surrounds to update them.

Amazing amount of work that you've put into this rig. Can't wait to see the finished product. Starting to look like an MRAP type vehicle! I was afraid enough to drill a few 1/8th inch holes for my JDM mirror and rear wing, but dang, you cut the whole roof off!!!! Keep up the good work.

Got the front on and roughed in the lights. They still need a few more rivets and will be getting mesh or lexan covers. I plan to add more lights when I have the money.

Made up some front tie downs. I'll be able to pull the roof rack and layout the rest of the roof when they're all on.

Got the front tie downs on. I also made grills for the lights that give it a more mrap look.

I've been fabricating a lot of parts for my second 4runner project. I almost finished my first when it was totaled after someone ran a stop sign and the only pic I have is of the accident. So I thought I'd document more this time.

These spam posts are incredibly annoying. 4th time just copied and pasted another members statement.

The build is super creative, I really dig the ingenuity. So looking through the pictures, I saw you cut the roof and just temporarily have something up there. Any ideas how you're going to raise it?

Thanks, I'm building up the sides like I did the front and back. Then I'm putting on aluminum diamondplate for the top.

I started laying out fold up steps for the rear bumper.

Steps are primed and ready to weld on tomorrow. Should make it easier to get in and out of the back.

I can't wait until your truck is finished, almost as much as I'm sure you cant!

BTW I need to get me one of those firearm Coexist stickers. Wonder if they sell em as one piece.

It's still a work in progress, but I have the control panel in. All the shiny metal around it is temporary and kinda crooked so imagine it's not there.

I can't wait either, partially because it will be nice to drive a finished truck, but also so I can start building the next 4runner I've got up on blocks in the side yard.

They sell the sticker online, I'll see if I can find the site for you.
