TJM Snorkel for 5th Gen?

I was just wondering since the snorkel has no way for water to drain out if it just splashed into the snorkels. The more traditional designs has drains at the intake but this seems to just scoop it, my thought was maybe if it splashed onto the windshield it also splashed into the snorkel

The drains on the ARB head is gimmicky at best.

As long as there are bends in the tubing/snorkel, and the tubing sits below the opening leading to the air intake box, you shouldn't get much water inside your intake box.

Its hard to visualize and explain, but once you actually see the snorkel in person, its easy to figure out.

So I would just pick the snorkel you find more aesthetically pleasing or suits your build design more.

I like ARB a little more, because you have the option of running a prefilter if you so choose, whereas the TJM really can't (unless you count rigging a oiled sock as a prefilter)..... but thats a different story all together.

This is not exactly what you asked for but it's been done on a FJ with a different brand snorkel. From my understanding it will take some ingenuity with adapters, I'm trying to locate the post about the adapters used, should be pretty close to where the stock and TRD CAI port resides.

My TRD intake seems to work fine with the TJM snorkel.

As an added bonus, whenever I want to clean my air filter, I just spritz my windshield washer nozzle! :argue:

Nope, did not have to fabricate any parts. Used all the stock, TRD, TJM bits.

Anyone feeling like there could be an airflow issue due to size, or lose of mileage? I know the ARB is plenty big enough for air into the engine, but at the same time, it is massive. The TJM seems to be cleaner to the body lines.

I didnt mind the ARB on my Tacoma, but it wasnt as large as it is for the T4R.

Zero air flow issues (there are 2 areas for fresh air to come in). Is quiet on the road and we have deep water crossings up here and no issues with water “dry as a bone”.

Has anyone ordered the pre-filter sock for the TJM snorkel or know if any other alternative besides using an oiled sock that you wear?
Dust and dirt goes into the snorkel very easily if you are traveling dirt roads esp. when traveling in a convoy. I didn't have a pre-filter this past weekend and my filter looked like mud was caked on. It threw a CEL for MAF after 200 miles. I took the filter off and cleaned it. There was no dust in the intake tube or TB after the filter. I replaced everything and started it up and CEL cleared itself. I have a volant intake and tjm snorkel...traveling the dirt county roads in the Texas Hill Country.
