Are your fog lights Toyota or aftermarket? Many aftermarket parts, especially lighting stuff, has generally been not all that great.

Mine are OEM. I got them from [MENTION=124101]Chim[/MENTION] from his '02, as well as the whole front bumper. Yeah, I would be hesitant to go aftermarket too. There are constantly 3rd gens being parted on the PDX CL- I wouldn't think it would be too hard to find a set for $100 or so.

I've tried hooking up several different aux input adapters in the external disc changer port on the back of my single disc factory radio but none of them worked. Now I'm thinking it my work on the 6 disc changer you have.

Oh serious? Interesting you mention that, because I was planning on getting one of those aux adapters. I don't remember the site I was going to order from, but they were the only place that I have found to have a lightning cord that has aux input and +12v for charging. I want a hardwired cord for my phone so I can charge it and listen to music with it. I'm sure I could get a fancy adapter to stream over BT, but $60 sounds way better than $260.

These are some of the aux input adapters that I tried from amazon. They have a USB port for a lighting cord & an aux input. It plugged right into the back of the CD changer port on the factory stereo. It would charge my phone but I wasn't able to play any music. All the products I've tried are listed to work with the 3rd gen but I'm thinking when the manufacturer states it plugs into the OEM CD changer port, maybe they mean the stereos with the built in CD changer? If you find something that works let me know.

Lol. I used to be. Still have family in PNW. I grew up in Tacoma Washington then my family moved to Georgia in the early 90s when I was a kid. For sure, if you come across a set of OEM fog lights I'd most definitely appreciate a heads up because the OEM fogs I've looked at locally were all pretty crusty.

I egged out my perfectly-drilled new holes, then loosened the shroud bolts, pulled up, and retightened them. Clears now. Round holes would have been real swell [emoji30]

Thanks man. My '97 was dialed as far as suspension/handling and cleanliness, so I'm goin hard trying to get the '01 up to snuff.
Speaking of which-

Gross AF [emoji30] It really didn't clean up great, so I didn't get pics. Hopefully I'll be able to eventually get it cleaned up, but it looks like mold, so I should probably just replace it.
Carpet is coming clean nicely though!

I think I'm gonna go to the 4th notch on the fronts, and put the center bumps back in the rear. My priorities are screwed up too; I still haven't gotten an alignment, and my tires are already stepping * Still drives and tracks great from my home alignment.

As long as your not driving tons of miles get the alignment done when your done.

I have the Taco D558 Billies. Since stepping it up to 295/70r17's I'm seriously considering stepping it all the way up to notch 3. With the bumper and winch it should tame the ride out a bit but I hate putting that much pre-load on. Worse case is I reverse it and do a proper tub.

As long as your not driving tons of miles get the alignment done when your done. I have the Taco D558 Billies. Since stepping it up to 295/70r17's I'm seriously considering stepping it all the way up to notch 3.

Yeah, obviously- that's why I haven't gotten it aligned yet. Hoping Les Schwab will put my strut in their clamp and move my perch for me. I hate using the spring compressors and taking it all apart.
That's a great size tire BTW. I would love a 295/75R17 [emoji12]

What a pain! Finally got the new steering rack bushings installed [emoji1598]
I remembered them being easier on my '97, but after I'm all done with a project, I tend to forget immediately how pissed off and frustrated I was during the process.
The only real PITA was pounding out the OEM rubbers. I did it with the rack in place, so I didn't have space to setup a clamp/press. It still wasn't too bad, just took a while. It was 100* out, but the concrete was cool, and kept me surprisingly comfortable.

I used the Energy Suspension kit again. I chose black, because I'd rather things appear stock vs aftermarket.

I'm a little less lowrider now. Went from perch 3 to 4 of 5 on the Tundra fronts. Still on '99 tall coils. Idk how much lift that is over stock, but it's about 22.25" to COH. I think that's still only about 2.25" of lift?

I think I do now [emoji12] The plastic top key that came with the rig had a broken top link, so there is a hole drilled in it- ghetto. I also wanted to have my locksmith make a perfect version, to help preserve my ignition/lock cylinders [emoji1360] The perfect versions are worlds different than the hardware store/dealership cuts.

What are you using to clean the carpet?

Simple Green, a microfiber cloth, a brush, and a bucket of hot water [emoji1360]

Me too! Which is what I did for my '97 when I got it. When I was getting it ready to sell, I finally fixed the finicky ignition. When I say "I" fixed it, I mean I had a locksmith fix it. When I contacted him about the repair, he mentioned "I'll cut a perfect version of your key, which will help prolong the tumblers" I'm like "uh, I just had the dealer cut two new keys, and I've only really used one". He said "these will be much different- I guarantee"
I'm thinking to myself "okay dude, whatever".
I go to pick the ignition cylinder up, and he hands me the keys. I compare them, and was about in shock- the new key has sharp points on all the spots that depress the tumblers. I ask him why it's so different than the keys the dealer cut from the VIN, and he says "well, because their machine is about $5k, and mine is $60k."
I wish I could post pics, but- for the security of the new owner of the '97- I can't do that.

When I first got my 97 the owner handed me three keys. All where worn and rounded. They'd start the rig sometimes, sometimes they'd be a real PIA. I was all set to get a new ignition cylinder but put a call into a local locksmith. He told me to stop by and he'd see what he could do.

He used the vin to get the proper key on the tumblers. Then he made a "test" key. He explained that about 80% of the time it works. When it doesn't he uses the test key fine tune it by looking at the pattern on the teeth. Well, that "test" key worked perfectly. I had him cut 3 more on the spot. All totaled for his 30 minutes of time and 4 keys was 40 bucks. Haven't had any key issues with my rig since.

I guess the good machines are smart enough to estimate what the original bump used to look like and overcompensate, versus the cheap ones that just copy paste.
