Based on what I've read here, and KP's recs, I'm thinking these may be ideal:

It says they are designed for 6 - 6.5 inch speakers,, are they OK for the JBL GX302 speakers? I have a non-JBL HU and want to make sure I get the correct BB for the 302's so I only have to do this once.

66 mfd cap, so assuming the GX302 is really 2.3 ohms, that looks to be about 1000 Hz crossover point. I think that would probably be a fine choice.

I did this infinity swap back in 2012, at the time there were no adaptors I ended up cutting off the connector, now years later I am trying to restore it back unfortunately, I had cut the connectors too short(see photo), I just thought I would post here to see if anyone knows where I could get a new connector and pins. toyota doesn't offer and all I find are the female versions. Anyhow, I figure if anyone knew it would be here.

This is why I cringe whenever I see people cutting stock wiring harnesses! I think a junkyard is probably your best bet. Just remember that the 4Runner is not the only vehicle to use that connector (I think Corolla and Sienna also?), so I'm pretty sure with enough searching you could find a couple.

[MENTION=73075]axxman[/MENTION] - Look for a number of some kind on the connector. If there is one, Google it, with the word “connector”. I did that with a switch on my wife’s Honda. That part wasn’t listed in the Honda parts list. Turned out, they were available on Amazon, eBay, etc, for just a dollar or two. Worth a try.

Make sure you follow the factory harness colors I posted above in post 526. They should coordinate properly with the red positive and black negative wires of your aftermarket harness when plugged in. You'll connect both positives together (either solder or one side of butt splice), and then connect your capacitor to that junction before connecting to + on speaker. Then, connect both negatives together and run one wire from that junction to your speaker negative. I've attached an extremely crude MS paint drawing since I don't feel like firing up AutoCAD or Visio, haha.

Thanks guys, but I am afraid there are no numbers on it, and I cut the wires off flush. I am in the middle of scrolling through the 30-40 pages of connectors on the mouser website, and I am going to see if the one from a sequoia can be modified to fit. I will post photos if it works.

*****update****** It does work but I forgot to take a photo. I did the passenger side.

note, I ordered another one, this one came from a camery I think, the wires were thinner, I put it in on the drivers side, it did not solder as well as the one from the sequoia, I found another one from a sequoia on fleabay and ordered it. I want this to be the last time I do this.

Note 2 Toyota wires up the dash speakers out of polarity compared to the rest of the speakers. if it matters to you, switch the wires from the tweeter.

well I got some good news,

I recieved the toyota sequoia off ebay and the connector turned out to be very close. not an exact fit but after a little trimming, it plugs right in there. now I just need to solder the wires back to the factory harness.

Here it is plugged into my Focal Plug n Play tweeter

So i just read all 39 pages and although there's a lot of good information, much of it is out of order and thus confusing. All good intentions, no one's fault.

First, I think there needs to be a differentiation between the non-jbl and jbl processes/setups i.e. what the wiring harness looks like. Which system routes sound from the dash speaker to the door speaker and which system doesn't (my suspicion is the jbl system doesn't but this is unconfirmed).

2 points of observation from the prior 39 pages:

1, Looks like the jbl system has a harness with 2 wires leading into a 4 pin plug. 4 wires then leave from said plug to the speaker. 2 to the lager speaker and 2 to the tweeter. The 2 to the tweeter seems to have an inline frequency limiter installed. The stock jbl amp has built-in crossovers so an inline frequency limiter is not needed for the new dash speaker.

2, Also looks like the non-jbl system has 4 wires leading into the 4 pin plug. 2 wires lead to the dash speaker but the other 2 go to the door speaker. This is the reasoning for splicing the 2 positives and 2 negatives together. An inline frequency limiter needs to be installed on the wires leading to the dash speaker (as there is no amp).

I believe KP Texan's very useful diagram and wire color guide is only for non-jbl systems.

Can anyone please confirm this or did I get it completely wrong?

I ordered jbl gx302's and hope to install them on my jbl system this weekend. Any clarification would be appreciated.

I have a 2017 LE w/ the JBL Nav package. I only have two wires, similar to Rupam (Post 522). So I just ordered the TacoTunes wiring harness and a pair of JL audio C2 350 speakers. The dash speaker is powered seperately off the JBL amplifier, different than non JBL trucks. Most likely the crossover is built into the amplifier. Just take the dash speaker out and see if there is a cap, if so reuse it.

I also have the JBL system which actually sounds pretty good with the exception of the weak OEM subwoofer. I left all spaekers stock and replaced the 8in OEM sub with a Kicker 8in shallow mount and added an amp to power that. Sounds real good. Dash speakers are already pretty bright for the JBL.

Thank you for your help! I do somewhat enjoy the JBL speakers but I believe it is lacking some highs. I have my treble all the way up, the mid about 3/4 the way up with my bass a notch above the middle. I listen to a lot of electronic music and rap and the bass seems sufficient.... for no lol still trying to decide whether or not I want to add an enclosure for the corner or not.

I just picked up a Kicker mini amp and stuffed it behind the glove box, high and to the right and added the bass knob.

Alright so after playing with the stock JBL system I am convinced that I need new door speakers as well as a sub..... Not fully convinced on the setup yet but I am going to order the Alpine Type R 6x9's for the front doors and see how they perform. I will be running them off the stock JBL amp for now.
