Picked up a full set(front,rear,and cargo) of Weathertech laser fit mats from craigslist yesterday for $175. Cleaned them up and installed them today.

5100's and SAWs install

I dropped off my SR5 at my favorite garage this morning for installation of 4 Bilstein 5100's and rear SAW's.

Picked it up and played with it! Fronts set to 1.75" on stock springs, and rear SAW 1.5" coils installed. It immediately went to the alignment shop where everything was dialed in perfectly.

I netted about 1.5" lift in the front, and easily 2" in the rear. I could probably go higher on the 5100's in the front, and still might, but first want to see if the rear springs settle at all after being loaded.

It feels more "grounded". I feel more bumps, and they're absorbed better with decreased residual bounce. Turns are significantly tighter without much lean/wobble. Nose dives are reduced a little, but not gone, which I expected since I didn't opt for new front coilovers. Overall the "springiness" and wobble is definitely reduced, thus removing what I referred to as "pogo-sticking". There's minimal side tilt when I step on the nerf bars, and very little drop in the rear when loading the cargo space. In summary, I'm very happy I made this change. New tires are next (maybe 275 instead of 265), but I'll wait to wear down the treads a bit more on the current ones.

Took mine out yesterday to the Butcher Jones recreation area just north of Saguaro lake. Kids had fun and got some wheeling in. Still surprised at how capable the 4Runner is even just plain stock.

Took wifey into O'Hare today. ~350 miles, all interstate. 75 mph going in, strong headwinds, 19.3 mpg. Return, winds calm, 80 mph, 18.6 mpg. (per OBC).

Not too shabby. Good road car.
