I got it from a guy on Instagram that is starting his business putting these together. I like it a lot(better than the CBI). The best thing is I can remove it if I ever get tired of it. This design is awesome because it stays close to the hatch.

did maintenance in preparation for shrockworks skid installation and because i needed to do it anyway:
changed rear diff fluid and replaced crush washers (wasn't that dirty but im glad that i did it)
changed t case fluid and replaced washers (glad i did it, that fluid was pretty dirty compared to the rear diff fluid)
greased all 6 zerks while i was hanging out under there anyway
need a 10mm allen to do the front diff, luckily its accessible with the engine skid installed
installed the shrockworks engine skid. started to install the transmission skid but realized i seemed to have misplaced my crossmember piece :noidea: :ybrick:. Called shrockworks and can go pay for and pickup a new powdercoated one at the end of the week (so fortunate to have them so close by). will continue to search until then.
also modified the rear cargo area 12V plug to accept 8ga wires which will get run through the interior, then passenger side firewall (just like Reata did in his build thread), then to the battery to power my dometic fridge.
got my first trail rash on Saturday! (lower pass corner of rear bumper cover)
got some funny looks from this 2nd pic, I call this The Little Compressor That Could (Viair 70P). Since Hidden Falls compressor was down i had no alternative but to spend 5+min a tire just to get from 24 to 38 psi. i was afraid if i dropped too much lower than that going in i might burn the compressor out
Got off work early so decided to experiment a bit..
Need to decide on rear coils for when the SSS rear bumper arrives, so decided to put the stock coils through their paces to try and get a feel of how stiff I should go next..
Had an unloaded vehicle besides driver and half tank of gas.
Setup:
All tires BFG KO2 @40psi (265/70/r17)
6112 Bilstein front shocks with coils @0.85" setting
5160 Bilstein rear shocks with stock coils
Bumps 1 - 6 are flat topped shape like /—\
Sharp bumps are short and stubby, kind of like the ones you see in parking structures but slightly bigger..
Brick road ≈ small ruts
Alleyway ≈ larger ruts
Pretty cool to see things in action back there. Safe to say those stock coils are soft, bottoming out often even on an empty truck.
Plan on it doing a fully loaded run through the "Empty Quarter" desert next winter and the Toyota guys don't go slow out there :frusty:
Dropped off the truck at the shop, while I'm swamped with work, as the truck is being prepped for a trip through the Mojave Rd and Death Valley in Mid-April.

What route will you be taking to make the trip down? Depending on when, we may be able to meet you on your route and tag along a little, if you didn't mind.

I'll be doing Portland to San Jose in one day, then on the 15th I'll be going to Goose Gear to get my new cargo setup, so from there to LA, and then on to the Mojave, and you're welcome to join us.
